I plan to buy my uncle a straight razor as a birthday gift. Anyone here who knows where I could buy premium/branded ones locally?

Go to the Solingen shop at Rockwell, or Mall of Asia, they ripped of the name Sharper Image from the gadget shop in the US...they sell razors by Henckel and Solingen. Very nice.

Thanks for the tip, KS.

May I ask how one gets to Mall of Asia from Quezon City? That mall had not been constructed yet when we moved to the province, so I have no idea how to get there.

I think EDTF is right, the henkels shop has a lot of branches, will try to find the number of the MOA branch and as if there are some nearer to you, so you don't have to drive too far.

Hey Mikey, this is the only one I found at Zwilling J.A Henckel. Hollow-grind and handle is made of some kind of plastic.

Thanks for the photos, sir.

I didn't realize it would be that expensive. I guess I'll have to save up for it though. My wife really wants me to get one so I can bring it with me whenever I get a haircut --she doesn't trust the straight razors used in barber shops, as these may be sources of infectious disease if you happen to get cut accidentally by a "dirty" blade that was previously used by another customer.

I didn't expect it to be that expensive too! If you find something cheaper please do share it with me,I still have a week to go. Thanks in advance and stay safe.

I just remembered there is a company selling barbers stuff. Check the yellow pages. BTW, Most Barbers use faux straight blades. They just half the single blade and insert it into a straight blade type razor. Might be cheaper to just get those disposable blades. BTW, you would also need to get the leather strop (sp?) to keep it razor sharp
