What are shotguns so dam addicting? Is it the Big bore? the massive about of lead you can through down range or down a hallway, the distinctive sound it makes when loading it? WHAT!!! WHAT!!!! I must know what is it that is driving my freaking addiction to shotguns!!!!!
Home Defense:
USAS-12
Mossberg 500AT
Mossberg 590A1
Remington 870 Magnum
Winchester 1300 Defender
Mossberg 590A1 SBS (waiting on Form 4 right now)
Competition:
Benelli M1S90
Hunting/Skeet:
Winchester 37 single shot
Sear and Roebuck 101.535 Bolt Action
SKB XL900 Semi-auto (this is one sweet shotgun for skeet and duck hunting)
I own 10 shotguns, and everytime I am in a gunstore I always catch myself looking at the shotguns......oh wait, make that 11 shotguns....forgot the 410 single shot Snake gun that is in pieces in the garage waiting on a overhual....this was a Boat gun from my days in the swamps of south Louisiana, not big loss if it got dropped in a river or anything.....
Now I want a couple Siaga Shotguns, yes I said Couple....12ga and a 410. I also think a Lever Action 410 would be cool to have also......If I keep this up I might actually have more shotguns then I do AR15s one of these days......I gotta stop.
edited to add the USAS12, how could I forget that beast.

i own one shotgun. i'll buy another sometime, a spare is sensible.
own all the toys of whatever description you please, no problem by me..
But, if you're trying to convince ME to buy a dozen shotguns, you're out of luck to start with..
on the other hand.. if it's just your personal hobby? Rave on..
Hell, I have a box of rocks I've spent years collecting and thousands of dollars on.. not a very BIG box of rocks either..
try telling me to have fewer whetstones and i'll likely say something insulting.. i'd expect that sort of reaction if i dissed YOUR hobby..
only question I got is... do you keep an appropriate ammo supply for EACH gun?

High quality tactical shotguns are cheap compared to high quality handguns and rifles.

Scatterguns are great tools!
I thought that I was experiencing "acquisition issues" a couple of years ago when I bought/acquired SEVEN shotguns!
870(s), 1100, won a couple of Mossbergs.
Scatterguns are great tools! (Oh, I said that already. Sorry.)
I've got the itch for a SXS coach gun cut down to 18.5". Then maybe an O/U done the same way. Where does it stop? Just how many do I need? The only answer I can come up with is more than I have right now.

I do have a few cases or shotgun ammunition and a 12ga reloading setup. The hunting/Skeet guns have been in the family for awhile......so don't know if they count towards the addiction, the 410 is a door stop, maybe one day I'll carve a new stock and forend for it and refinish it out of boredom. I don't think I'll go out and buy a lever action SG, but if somehow I end up with one, I'll keep it.....But, I do want a Siaga, Partially because I would enjoy doing the conversion myself, and in hopes the the Siaga drum actually gets produced oneday. think my favorite is shooting skeet with the SKB.

Yeah, I've got more shotguns than any other type of firearm in my safe. My next purchase is gonna be a shotgun as well.

They are the all around gun,,I got a few and wanting more. Same with me , every time I'm in a gun store I have to look at shotguns and check for deals.
Affordable, rugged, effective, simple, and just plain dam fun to shoot. Truly one of the great all arounders
I don't think the practical mind can avoid falling in love with them.
