View Full Version : 9mm 1911 STI
i'm wanting a 9mm 1911 single stack. my two top choices are the STI USPSA Single Stack and Trojan with the STI Legacy and Kimber targetII part of plan B, the other part of plan B is a S&W952. my question is is there that much differance in the Trojan and SS to equal 800$. with that said i ordered a SS in .40 back in march. i don't like springfields and don't really like kimbers, is there any other makers of a 9mm 1911 i'm missing? i'm wanting the 9mm for action pistol and maybe AmSteel. thanks

I have the 9mm Trojan, nice gun and comes ready to shoot competition. The frame on the Trojan is cast if that matters to you.
I haven't handeled any of the others you mention, but STI puts out a good product.

I like your plan B better. I think the Legacy is a classy 1911 and very well built. Its got the forged frame and all, while the Trojan is cast. I have both and the Legacy is a nicer 1911. I also like it better than the USPSA, which has a plastic trigger and some nontraditional lines. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to the 1911.
Also, the PC952 is one of the best 9mms ever made. I'm a huge 1911 fan, but for a 9mm, the 952 is the best one you listed. I like my 1911s in 45ACP.
Here's my Legacy, Trojan, and PC952.
