View Full Version : Renewing CCW in AZ
I'm in Arizona and I can renew my CCW 90 days prior to the expiration. Does anyone know that if I do it 90 days out, do I end up losing the extra months? For example, mine expires in September. If I renew in July will it now expire 4 years from July? This is my first time renewing. Thanks.
go ahead and renew it 90 days prior to the expiration this this way you can still carry if you wait it will be in the mail for sometime and your permit will NOT be no good till the new one gets to you

I have never lost days on my permit. Your next permit will just expire 5 years from the date your current permit expires. For example, If your current permit expires September 15, 2008 then your renewed permit will expire September 15, 2013. At least that's how mine have all been dated.
However, they are pretty good about getting permits back to you in 2-3 weeks. So you may want to wait until August.

Outstanding! That's what I was hoping to hear. Thanks.

Also, your new permit's "effective date" won't be until the day the old one expires. I don't know that law enforcement wouldn't honor it early, but I kept my old one until it expired.
When I renewed last time, they sent me the renewal stuff in the mail. All I did was fill it out, include finger prints and a check when I sent it back, and they sent the new permit in about 2 weeks. I recieved the renewal paperwork about 60 days prior to the old permit's expiration.
