View Full Version : Glock 30 sf versus XD compact 45
Well, this is a tough question but i do like the 45 ACP, which one do you like for CCW? Which pistol handles the recoil the best for follow up shots and is there a size differential that is noticeable? Do you have any ammo preferences 200 vs 230 in these shorter barrels? Thank you in advance-
Bump, I am also curious about the two
Another interested lurker. I have an XD .45 Compact, but am considering getting a G30 or G30SF.
The Glock is a little smaller than the XD.
The XD has a grip safety. (Good oe bad; you decide)
If you're a 1911 shooter, the XD will feel much better in your hands.
Actually, the XD will probably feel better anyway, unless the only gun
you've ever shot is a Glock.
I want to get rid of my Glock and get a Kimber Ultra Carry because a 1911's grip angle is so much nicer than a Glock. But, I have yet to find something that conceals as good as my G27, that has as much firepower and capacity.
Yes, I am mostly curious about the concealability of the XD 45C, they look very nice to me and unlike the fullsize service length XD 45 they don't look awkward and disproportionate.

Cool pic mvician. Any chance we can get a comparison pic side by side from the back, showing thickness and grip length??
TIA

I've heard real good things about both of those choices but I am so happy with my 1911's I can't bring myself to even try one of them!
If I did though, I think it'd be the G-30SF.
Don't have the answer for you, but I did buy a G30 today and fired 70-80 rounds of 230 Win.whitebox through it. Works for me.

I had a G30 that I carried daily a couple of years ago. I had to sell it but I'm definitely replacing it.
I shot the Springer and I liked it too, but I'm going to stick with the G30 and a suppressor this time.
The G30 has very little recoil considering the barrel length and it's a breeze to make accurate follow up shots.
It's fairly easy to conceal if you're using a quality IWB holster. I had a Sparks Watch Six for it.

I'm working midnights right now so no time to take more pics. Thickness is about the same. These pics are the regular G30 and not the SF. Here is the G30 on top of the XD45C
