Hi, this question is for those who are familiar with these 2 high end 1911's. Which do you prefer?
Wilson Combat CQB w/ rail
or
Springfield Armory Professional w/ rail
Thanks!
I don't like rails on 1911s, period.
As far as the two are concerned, the Pro comes with a much better finish (Black T). Both are outstanding 1911s.
I'd probably go with the Springfield, although I love my CQB as well.

I would go with the Springfield Armory Pro.
btw, how much IS the SA Pro? I know that Wilson CQBs are about ~2200-2500; not sure about the SA Pro.
And where can you get the Professionals?

The Springfield Pros are around $2500.
You call Springfield and ask them to make you one. They aren't an assembly line gun. They are made to order by highly trained gunsmiths.

Personally I would go with the Wilson. I do not care for the 20 lpi checkering on the Springfield. Both are great weapons, so a lot would come down to what you like.
I have a railed CQB that has never malfuntioned. I love the Wilson and highly recomend it.

It took my a while to get used to 20lpi as well.
I like it now though.

I like the PRO a bit more myself but I can't stand the rails either. There were a couple used ones at the 10-8 forum not to long ago but they both sold for $1700 and $1900. With SAs excellent customer service I wouldn't worry that much about buying used.

Yeah, there is something about rails on a 1911 that really ruin its great looks, in my opinion.
I'm not a big rail person to begin with. However, I do own quite a few pistol with them, just no 1911s.
I bought my first 1911 with a rail because I wanted that versatility, for home defense. If I get another, it will be sans rail. I think they have a much cleaner appearance and would be more CCW friendly.
