View Full Version : Glaser Blue Safety Slug's
I was curious what this ammo is all about, & if anyone here likes it at all. It sure is expensive stuff.

It is ammo where the bullet fragments into 300 tiny pieces of shot encased within the bullet...
Perhaps useful if one was forced to shoot and only have 5" of penetration, such as a hostage scenario, etc....
The bullet will usually frag itself even in sheetrock, so I am not sure I'd trust it expect on shirtless crackhead home invaders offering an unobstructed frontal shot, and even then, I;d want a 2nd mag with conventional JHP rounds...
Most people's opinions on this round: worthless
That stuff uses compressed NUMBER 12 birdshot commonly known as 'dust' because it is so tiny.
Dismal penetration, iffy reliability, expensive..
The calibration BBs used to check ballistics gel penetrates deeper than Glaser Blue

Pass on it . You will go broke checking relieabily in a auto. I also found very inaccurate when I tried it years back.

I'd pack a few of them in the top of a magazine if I lived in an apartment complex, but that would be the only occasion. Dismal penetration. I'd use the "silver" variety.
