Well, .357Magnus, Harlenm, and a few others of us are all up here in CT. What I'd like to do is start a "CT GLOCKers" club so we can arrange shoots, outings, competitions, etc.
Interested?

Anything, really. I'd like to get all of us CT GLOCKers together sometime and go shooting or something. I think it'd be awesome.
Anyone have any ideas?

Best places are Bob's in Darien, Bethany Firearms, in, you guessed it, Bethany, and arms and munitions in Monroe(also have a range to try out some guns).
Do not, I repeat, do not buy anything from Forest and Field. Don't even go there.
If you wanna drive a bit, go to JoJo's in Southington. Best selection of Black Rifles, SBR's, preban's, and other expensive goodies.

Trip to Wooster Mountain for some pistol/rifle practice. Try to hit a 5" clay at 50+ yards with an AR(using iron sites), it's not easy. Best thing is shooting at empty detergent jugs there, very fun to see them fly up in the air. I can bring my clay launcher and we can shoot some clays as well.

It's a small state with ridiculously high taxes, horribly road conditions and traffic, highest gas prices in the nation, and no plans to make it easier on us.
Maybe you'd like to come visit one day, I hear they have really good toy stores.

Prices there are ridiculous. Same with Arms & Munitions. I buy everything from Bethany Firearms.

Arms and Munitions isn't bad on price. I shopped around when I bought my kahr and they were the lowest. This is before I found Bethany. I really don't have loyalty to any one shop though, as all my purchases are spur of the moment.

Arms & Munitions had a M&P there recently they wanted over $600 for. The same gun at Bethany is $489. Glocks at Arms & Munitions are almost $600. I've never paid more than $499. The problem is that every gun shop in Fairfield county is equally overpriced. Drive north a little bit and the difference is huge. You will easily save $100 a gun.

Thanks Harlenm, I wish I would of read your responce before I went to forest and field!!!
I just purchased a G19 for $550 out the door...........($519 + tax)
It didn't sound too bad cause I usually see them for $499 and up. But I'll definitely shop around for my next one.
I just really hate the guys there. They act like they are better than you. A-holes.

Now that you mention it, yea I def. second that. I thought it was just me cause I was a newb, but after at least a dozen times looking at their guns, talking to them trying to get some info/knowledge, using they're shooting range, and actaully buying my g19 there, I still get the same vibe.
I guess I would sort of understand, if they get the daily thug/young/punk/ no Pistol pemit having kid in there asking a billion questions, BUT I took my class there and got my permit (which should count for somethng, no?) so I would think they wouldn't be such deushes but 'NA still the same thing.................
That was my first and LAST gun I buy there.
Where do you guys go shooting around here? I've been to bridgeport shooting range, but would like to have other options.
Monroe has an indoor range, on Rt. 25.
Outdoor range in Danbury, wooster Mtn. And Blue Trail in Wallingford, as soon as they re-open.
Shooting.
In Connecticut?
Next thing you know people in this state will want to OWN guns...
Count me in on the fun.
Hey guys! I'm from Fairfield County also and I couldn't agree more about Forest & Field. Bought my first G19 there recently, and left feeling like I was doing them a favor. Good to know there are better options available.

Summers over, and nothing has ever been arranged. We need to do it soon before it's too cold to shoot outdoors.
We need to give Blue Trail some money and support, we should all meet up there.

Phew...a bit pricey up there, eh? I say we plan on going there - they need our support. I hear that Massad Ayoub will be up there shortly to hold a 3-hour class on a Weds night, too. Wish I could make it...it's a fundraiser for them.
Wanna get something cookin'?

It's a lot more expensive than it used to be. They raised their rates to cover their legal fees.
I'd rather do it during the week so we don't have to pay as much, but I know it would be harder to get something together. Next weekend would probably work.

Hi,
the best place for the class is the Bridgeport Shooting Range. It is located on the border of Bridgeport and Fairfield. There is an online schedule on their web sight.

Hi,
You guys can count me in, I am located in North Haven not too far from Blue Trails. I have never been there (Don't know why because it is so close to me) but I would like to support and get familiar with this range.
Thanks
The Bridgeport shooting range is nowhere near the border of Fairfield. It's in the middle of the ghetto, close to Stratford.
Not the nicest part of Bridgeport.
I am moving to Stamford within the month. I have never lived east of the Houston Ship Channel in my life. It will be a huge change for me and my wife, but I am looking forward to meeting a few CT gun nuts. Count me in.

New member here. A shoot would be fun but finding a place, time, etc. is always tough. I live 8 miles from ESPN and I see alot of you are alittle far. I also belong to the Bristol Fish & Game, but they no longer allow guest.... Newington gun and Hoffmans are two of my favs with Newington being more to my likeing. JoJos isn't far from me and is also cool.
jtull7, CT will be a change for sure. Let us know when you arrive.

I went to the Durham show since I was already in the area teaching a motor vehicle extrication class to EMT students, and to me it seemed to only be around 100-120 tables. I was looking for a Beretta 92FS, but I didn't see any for sale. I dodn't really like the amount of Nazi paraphanlia what was there.
I'm from the Monroe/Trumbull area and would be up for meeting up with people. I shoot at the Bridgeport shooting range and at the Fairfield County Fish and Game club in Newtown. If anyone is interested in the winter they do falling plates.

Hey all.
We're thinking of setting up something for CT members in the future too over at www.ctguntalk.com (http://www.ctguntalk.com).
We usually get a few people to meet up at HIghRock Shooting range in naugatuck as it's a cheap and great out door place, but in the colder weather, best to stick to a GOOD indoor place.
Come by the forum and see if we can get a larger meet setup.

Good afternoon all. I'm new to this site, but just wanted to introduce my self. I'm Brian and I am also from Ct. During the summer I live in Monroe and during school year I live up in New Britain.
So if anyone wants to meet up to shoot I'd be in.
I just recently purchased my first glock a 19. So still getting used to it and learning a lot.
