me and the girl friend went shooting and i tried my new double tap 200gr. xtp's out....im not impressed at all! ive been shooting blazer 200 gr. fmj and it has a decent snap when you pull the trigger, the double taps(suppose to be awesome ammo....:wow:)seemed watered down to me! the gf even shot the dt's and said is that the good bullets or the cheap ones?
the accuracy was there but they didnt seem to have any "thump" to me:whistling:

I've been shooting the 10mm since 1998 and generally think it's a great cartridge. All of my shooting has been done in a Glock 20 or 29. In the last two years I started chronographing my 10mm ammo. and much to my surprise Double Tap (in my opinion based on my tests) is a little too optimistic about their published velocities.
I have chronographed DT's 200gr. XTP on three separate occasions and the average of the three, 5-shot groups (all done on different days from different boxes of ammo.) were 1106, 1102, and 1096fps. This is no where near the advertised 1250fps from a Glock 20.
I have also measured CCI Blazers 200gr. FMJ and the results averaged 1009fps. Close to the advertised 1050fps.
You can decide for yourself, but I think DT's 10mm 200gr. XTP is not up to the advertised speed.
There are a lot of complaints about the DT 10MM not being quite up to par, but don't forget that 1096 - 1102fps is still better than 1006fps. That's over a 20% increase in muzzle energy.
I shot Georgia Arms and Double Tap ammo. I enjoyed both, but have a "C" model so the hotter the load, the more help I get from the compensator:tongueout:. It was good shooting both ways.
I've now switched to the Double Tap 9X25MM ammo for the hotter range of loads. That has a bit of kick from a 6" non-ported barrel, but still feels pretty smooth. I'd like to see someone chrono these rounds :).

I recently chrono'd some DT 10mm also. The 200gr DT cast bullet averaged 100 fps slower than what the box says using a longer than listed barrel. All DT's were on the slow side. The 200gr TMJ's from Blazer did pretty good though.
