I recently bought a M-Tac and Smartcarry holster for my G19 mainly due to GTers feedback (thanks to all). I am very pleased with the M-Tac and can make my Glock disappear and remain comfortable, but after receiving the Smartcarry today and trying it in many different positions I cannot keep the butt of the grip from sticking out, and I don't think it is concealed enough.

Any tips for positioning a smartcarry holster to avoid this issue?

I ordered a Smartcarry at the same time as I got my first G19. I had the same experience you're having.

My solution was to get a G26. It's still not perfect (I can see things in the mirror that I'm pretty sure others don't notice, but still . . . ) But until they release the frequently-discussed-on-Glock-Talk single stack Glock (which probably could be as long in the grip as a G19 and still conceal well in a Smartcarry) I'll stick with the G26 or, when I wear less roomy pants, one of my (single stack) Makarovs.

I have the same setup except for my G30....I personally like the butt sticking out a little bit.....it makes it much easier, quicker and smoother to draw that way.

I keep the grips of my guns at the waistband so my belt goes OVER the grip. If done right you can have fast 1 handed holstering and upholstering unless the shirt is in the way.

Here are some of my videos showing how I use it. 12:00 with several guns.

Wrangler - The 26 is next on my list, but I cannot afford it right now. Need to make this work

Passive - Thanks for the tip, and your videos and explanations helped me to decide on the Smartcarry. I tried the butt of my grip right behind my belt and it concealed pretty well but the rest of the gun kind of slanted out away from my body when riding there. I also am planning on using this with a shirt tucked in so I am cautious about the grip being easily seen if worn right behind my belt.

Any other suggestions or tips?

I use the Smartcarry and G26. When I first got it I thought it was obvious but the more I wore it the more I realized nobody is looking at my "stuff".
wearing looser fitting pants makes a big difference. I wear a 34 waist jean but wear 36 when using the smartcarry or my mtac. Same with dress slacks - especially if they are thin fabric. If I know I will be sitting face to face with a client and I am wearing the smartcarry, before I go in, I will swing it to the 3 oclock/ right hip position or when I sit it looks like I am verrry happy to see them. I was told here on the forum that you have to dress for the gun not make the gun fit to what you already wear - you may need a whole new group of clothes.

Make sure the straps are down on your hips, not around your waist where a regular belt would be. Loosen the straps until the butt hangs as far below the beltline as is comfortable,

You are pretty much describing my dress situation. Thin dress slacks and dress shirt. It makes carrying difficult. That is why I thought I would give the smartcarry a shot. I have an old pair of slacks that are too bif. I might try them on and see how it works.

Do you see my XD40SC printing anywhere. (no you don't) You have to have your pants at least one size larger then you normally wear. If you wear tight fitting pants it will not work.
