870 7 shot roitgun

The local store had this one for $299. Looks like a decent shotgun and pretty smooth. It does not have the stupid safety key. 18.5 " barrel Express model. I,m putting a tacstar heat shield on it. Don,t need no bayonet mount. Alot of protection for the money. I use hi-brass number 1-1/4oz. -2 shot loads for HD. Mean looking short shotty. After shooting this gun its not as reliable with different ammo makes as my old special purpose 870 wingmaster. I have gotten rid of it!

It's also an Express, from the first year of production if I remember right, my dad bought it for me when I was 14 or 15, so about 1990. It's 20", with RemChokes. A lot of people poo-poo heatshields, but I like them on most guns, helps keep fingerprints off the metal.

I too like the heat shield on a short barrel riotgun. On the combat range firing 25 -50 rds fast it does get hot! I have left skin on M16,s. Burns are not fun.
