Can Safariland tension screws wear out?

Lately I've been noticing that when I pull my double mag holder out of my duffel bag the tension screw is 3 or 4 full rotations out of tension. That is, when I put it in the bag it's perfectly tight. It spends a few days in my duffel bag and then when I pull it out, it's loose again.

I'm wondering if it just...happens...or is there something wrong?

Yes, they rattle loose. Blue locktite is your friend.
