I recently picked up an almost new M1S90 for under $575 OTD and finally took it to the range to see what all the fuss was about. Wow, what a shotgun! I expected to have some issues with light target loads, but alas none occured. I only shot about a hundred rounds total today, but there was ten different types of loads and I even mixed them up in the mag tube to see if going from light to heavy and back again whould create problems. I shot at least a mag tube of each type listed below and 25 each of the lightest two loads to be sure it worked well with target loads, as that will be primarily what I take to the range for practice. Here's what I shot today...
Winchester Ranger 2 3/4" - Low Recoil - 1 oz slug
Winchester Ranger 2 3/4" - Low Recoil - 00 Buck - 9 pellet
Winchester Super-Lite 2 3/4" - 2 3/4 dram - 1 1/8 oz
Winchester Lite Target 2 3/4" - 2 3/4 dram - 1 1/8 oz
Winchester Drylok Steel 3" - MAG dram - 1 3/8 oz
Remington Duck/Pheasant 2 3/4" - 3 3/4 dram - 1 1/4 oz
Remington 3" - 4 dram - 00 Buck - 15 pellet
Federal Classic Field 2 3/4" - 3 1/4 dram - 1 1/8 oz
Federal Field & Target 2 3/4" - 3 dram - 1 1/8 oz
Federal Power-Shok 2 3/4" - 1325fps - 4 Buck - 27 pellet
Again, no problems encountered and the chrome lined bore made cleaning a snap, too. Recoil seems to be sharper than my short barreled Remington 1100, but there is no way it could properly feed such a wide range of loads.
