I have a horse belt, and its awesome. durangojim36 06-19-2008, 09:19 I Have A Mtac... I Carry A G26 Most Of The Time .. And A H&k P2000 On Occasions.... I use it with my MTAC and G30 without problems. raysheen 06-19-2008, 09:40 I'll give my standard nod to Looper :) cjlandry 06-19-2008, 09:46 Belt Man Horsehide is ichi ban! If you don't mind a thick belt, Tucker Gunleather's own belt (not the bullhide, which is a Belt Man) is the absolute shag daddy dalai lama!:number1: cybertek 06-19-2008, 10:19 The Beltman Horsehide everyday. I have three of them. With shorts I wear the Wilderness instructors belt 5-stitch. . rvrctyrngr 06-19-2008, 10:28 In 20+ years of carrying, I've used belts from just about everyone (Sparks, Rosen, Galco, Kramer, etc...). None are better than (most aren't as good as) Beltman belts, IMO. I'll never buy anything else again. You can get cheaper, but you asked for the 'best'. Spend the extra $10 for horsehide, no stiffener. Well worth it. caldwell25 06-19-2008, 14:12 THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE .. JUST ORDERED A BELTMAN HORSEHIDE.... 30 DAY LEAD TIME ... :wow: rvrctyrngr 06-19-2008, 15:42 Yeah...used to be a couple of weeks. I guess he got busy! Enjoy! Glocktex 06-19-2008, 15:43 I ordered a 1.5" black elephant belt from him earlier in the month. Everything I have read says he is one of, if not the best. It should be here in a couple of weeks. I cannot wait  Bacchus99 06-19-2008, 22:15 The Beltman. Love mine! loum 06-19-2008, 23:35 Another vote for the Beltman. It takes a little longer than it used to, but they are worth the wait. Beeman 06-20-2008, 04:11 I talked to him a few weeks ago on the phone, and he said he's getting orders out 30 days after recieving them. He has been busy, which is good. Norman 06-20-2008, 04:44 Tucker. Glockphobia 06-20-2008, 06:53 THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE .. JUST ORDERED A BELTMAN HORSEHIDE.... 30 DAY LEAD TIME ... :wow: "good things come to those who wait" you made the right choice! - a beltman fan. roar 06-20-2008, 19:59 I just received my Beltman horse hide belt today! This is my first serious belt, and I have a feeling its my last (unless I ever get another Beltman belt in the future)! I am glad that I spent the extra money on a quality belt. It is hilarious how flimsy and limp my previous belt is (few years old Old Navy leather belt). This leather is plenty rigid, and doesn't wobble or twist at all. Jim is a topnotch person who helped me with some questions that I had, and he runs a very good business. I highly recommend doing business with him, he makes an excellent product. Now all I gotta do is find a cool belt buckle to replace the stock one  BigFameOne 06-20-2008, 20:31 wearing my beltman horsehide now, best belt I have ever owned in fact if what I used to wear were belts this is something different. I have considered an instructors belt by the wilderness but would never not own a beltman product as well. Vet3612 06-20-2008, 20:57 I just got my Beltman Bullhide today. He must be busy. I got mine 40 days from the order date. I too think it was well worth the wait, and the price. I agree that there is no comparison to what I had previously. The difference was as another posted laughable. Gary1911A1 06-21-2008, 06:54 Another vote for Beltman. It seems to me I heard Tucker Belts are Beltmen, but I'm not sure and that brings up the only problem with buying your belts from someone who didn't make your holster. Each holster makers has a difference in the with of their belts or so it seems to me. A 1 1/2" belt may not fit somebodies 1 1/2" slotted holster. cjlandry 06-21-2008, 07:37 Another vote for Beltman. Each holster makers has a difference in the with of their belts or so it seems to me. A 1 1/2" belt may not fit somebodies 1 1/2" slotted holster. Good point. The loops on my Milt Sparks VMII are sometimes difficult to snap over the Belt Man belts, but they snap plenty easily when I wear the Milt Sparks belt. The difference isn't visible, but it becomes obvious when snapping the loops closed over the belt. I'd have to go to 1-3/4" loops to close them over Tucker's belts. Tucker makes his own belts, and he also sells Belt Man's Bullhide belts. The real Tucker belts are at least 1/4" thick. They're fine belts, they'll support anything. You could hitch a mule to a plow with those bad boys, and plow a field all day long! A6Gator 06-21-2008, 15:25 +1 on Tucker atxbandit 06-21-2008, 18:15 I got my Beltman bullhide a little over a month ago and love it. Compared to my old belt it really stiff. I can't imagine how the horsehide could be any stiffer. It took a month to get mine and I plan on buying a brown one next. cybertek 06-21-2008, 18:43 Definitely get the Horsehide. Not only is it a little stiffer, it also has a nicer finish and is more durable.:supergrin: rvrctyrngr 06-21-2008, 19:16 I got my Beltman bullhide a little over a month ago and love it. Compared to my old belt it really stiff. I can't imagine how the horsehide could be any stiffer. It took a month to get mine and I plan on buying a brown one next. I couldn't imagine it either...until I got one. I had three Beltman belts (all bullhide), then I bought a horsehide belt from a GT member. It's not so much that it's stiffer, it's that horsehide is a much denser material Tim13 06-22-2008, 00:22 Beltman. None better. The end. Tim Brock Morgan 06-22-2008, 20:47 Another vote for Beltman. Each holster makers has a difference in the with of their belts or so it seems to me. A 1 1/2" belt may not fit somebodies 1 1/2" slotted holster. Just a word from a holster maker here....not speaking for others, but I intentially make my OWB slots and IWB loops somewhat bigger than the customer's stated belt size. The reason I do this is so that the customer does not end up trashing the top and bottom of their carry belt. In many cases that can be the easiest part of the belt to scuff. The 1/8" that I use as the increase allows the customer to move their holster if they want to while wearing it, but it does not move unintentionally unless the user does not have their belt tightened appropriately. This is just another example of the user input that is a part of each of my holsters. This being said, I will vote for Beltman. I have seen his belts and can categorically say they are top notch and the price is certainly right. beefums 06-22-2008, 21:15 I just upgraded my order from a bullhide belt to a horsehide belt from the Beltman if that tells you anything. I'll give a full review once I get my belt. PARRIS G-23 06-22-2008, 21:39 I haven't tried the Beltman, but I do love my Wilderness Tact. Very good belts for the $. deadday 06-22-2008, 22:46 I've got a $15 belt that I bought from a Messican leather worker (wallets, belts, boots, purses) at the flea market that is stronger than any belt I've seen (including the $75 'special' gun belts)...I holds everything up just fine and looks pretty nice to boot...From my full-sized 1911 to the USPc I used to own, it carried a G22 for a while, a 442 etc. etc. Money does not equal quality... drew BigFameOne 06-22-2008, 22:57 I've got a $15 belt that I bought from a Messican leather worker (wallets, belts, boots, purses) at the flea market that is stronger than any belt I've seen (including the $75 'special' gun belts)...I holds everything up just fine and looks pretty nice to boot...From my full-sized 1911 to the USPc I used to own, it carried a G22 for a while, a 442 etc. etc. Money does not equal quality... drew While I can agee that money does not equal quality, I don't have access to Messican leather workers charging 15 for a high quality belt (wish I did), that said The Belt Man is HIGH quality. kaw77 06-23-2008, 16:21 Rafters I love mine beefums 06-23-2008, 16:47 I called Beltman today and updated my order to Horsehide. Apparently business is really good over there. He said he is busy and the ship time is still 30 days. I am excited to get my belt. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
