so what is a 45 super and what stats does it have and how could you convert a 1911 to fire it or couldnt you ? :dunno:

They created it i believe. They sell conversion kits and such.
Its basically a 45 ACP with much higher pressure. They took the 45 ACP and created a cartridge that can handle the higher pressures. You will get mixed reviews on it. For a 1911 your going to need a fully supported barrel and a heavier recoil spring. Magazine spring too as well i believe. Also you need to get a heavy duty extractor, Fireing Pin...This is off the top of MY head so if i am missing something please elaberate.

I got the heavier spring for my 4506 and have shot the 45 Super thru it. The 4506 calms the recoil considerably.

I don't know if I'd put it in a 1911 even after adding a different barrel but that's just me. The 4506 is a massive block of steel and has no trouble with it.
