I have a HK USPc .45 and I was curious if it would handle the +P round. Also, is the +p really that much better than standard pressure loads?

I'm sure it will handle the +P all day long. I had the full sized .45 USP and it said in the owner's manual that there was not any known .45 ACP ammo that the gun would not handle. It will wear parts faster though.
Many like the hotter loads because of better terminal performance from the shorter barrelled .45s.
As you can see from this list from this link, two +P loads passed the FBI's standardized tests.

I shot some +P out of my G30. I didn't like it much because it felt like shooting a .40 and my follow up shots got worse and worse.
The USP .45 is a very sturdy firearm, I am not sure about the Compact but I know the fullsize is capable of firing limited amounts of .45 Super without modification without any disastrous consequences. Not sure how much or little a limited amount is in this case, but the USPc will handle any ordinary ACP ammunition, +P or standard pressure.
My Ruger KP90 will handle it (and .45 super with a heavier spring) no problem. The XD45 I picked up has a decent recoil spring and looks like the barrel and slide are beefy, so I won't hesitate to load it up with some TAP 230gr +P.

Plus "P" is just Plus more money/recoil with little benefit! If your arm is full size stick with standard rounds and save the money/reduce recoil! If your shooting a short for caliber barrel- it should get you back to full size ballitics! My $.02! :)

USPc .45 will indeed handle +P, my current carry ammo in this gun is 230gr. Federal HST +P.

You're not going to wear out a USP45, full size or compact.
