I know the 17 and 22 are the same frame. But are there any internal differences that I need to know about? What I'm thinking of doing is getting a 35 slide for my 34. And then equiping it with a 357sig barrel. So we're talking about high pressure and more recoil. Now any 40 slide will be just fine with this... but is there anything that comes stock in the 17 frame that is different than the 22 frame that would make this problematic? Anyone converted a 35 to 357sig and had any issues?

did a quick search at topglock. there may be others, but these two came to mind off the top of my head
41349 Glock Factory Part, Locking Block for G22/G24/G31/G35
41280 Glock Factory Part, Locking Block for G17/G17L/G34, 2-Pin
41319 Glock Factory Part, Trigger Housing w/Ejector for Glock 40/357
41281 Glock Factory Part, Trigger Housing w/ Ejector, 9MM
If you have a 3-pin G17 frame, then the only difference is the ejector, which must be changed for personal safety reasons. If you have an older, 2-pin G17 frame, DO NOT SWAP SLIDES, PERIOD!

Thanks guys... I didn't think about that. I might just save up and get a 35 and convert it.
Why is the ejector different on the 9mm vs the 40 guns? The case heads are virtually the same and I use the same shell plate to load both.

Because they are different cartridges. Virtually the same isn't the same as exactly the same.

You mean the extractor?
The ejector on a .40 is straight. The ejector on a 9mm is not.

So you don't know then? The ejector is substantially different on the two calibers and the case heads are basically the same. I'm asking why. I'm asking because I don't know.

I mean the ejector. It's bent inward on the 9mm and straight on the 40. I know this. What I'd like to know is why.
Plenty of 9mm rounds sent out of 40cal Glocks with a conversion barrel and the 40 cal ejector in place.
The 9mm casing being extracted is smaller than a .40 caliber casing, so the 9mm ejector has a little more length to it, in the form of an angle, to reach the smaller casing. A straight, .40 caliber ejector may work, but not with 100% reliability. An angled, 9mm ejector should not be used with .40's because the angled tip might hit the primer and cause an AD while attempting to clear the pistol of a live round.

Because virtually and basically do not mean the same as EXACTLY. You know, some of the reasons that 380ACP is virtually the same as 9mm. It's not supposed to fit.

The primers are still located on the centerline of the breach. They are in the same position relative to the ejector on either cartridge. I don't see why the primer of a 40 would be more likely to hit the angled ejector than the primer of a 9mm. I'm not saying that's not the case, I'm not disagreeing with you. I just don't see how it makes a difference.
The 9mm case head is 0.03" inches smaller than the head of the 40SW FWIW.

If you want to speak of EXACTLY, I don't think it would take me too long to find 9mm cases from different countries and manufacturers that are not even close to being EXACTLY the same, yet they would work through the same gun. I think we could agree that they would be "basically" and "virtually" the same.

I've used my G31 slide on a G17 frame with no problems, this was even recommended to me by a Glock Armorer when the locking block on my 31 frame broke.
