8 weeks and 4 days after my 21st birthday been carrying my g19 in an mtac every day since i got it. I've been wearing just dark polos and t-shirts to cover it and it works very well. yesterday was my friends wedding and my tuxedo didn't have belt loops so i carried all day yesterday with no belt at all and the mtac was comfortable as its going to get. but after the wedding we were going to the reception and I didnt know where it was so i followed them and they go onto the navy base, so I pull up to the guard station and he asks, "Do you have any weapons in the car?", I say yes and he makes me turn around so that was my first "incident". my cc'ing friend was in his truck behind me so we parked his truck at the store up the road and left the guns in it and he rode with me through the checkpoint. I wish they would have told me that the reception was on base before hand.

(just so people may find this while searching) the wait time for me in florida was 32 business days, may 6th - jun 19th from mailing off the paperwork, to getting the permit in the mail.

Which base was that, Brandon? Every NAS or NS I've been to in FL would let you check a weapon at the security office. Might not do that any more.

It was NAS Pensacola.

Ahhhh....one I haven't been to in a lot of years. The pass/tag/security office used to be just before you went through the gate. They'd check your weapon for you. Did it a ton of times when I was stationed there.

Some things don't change for the better, I guess.
