View Full Version : Gun Show Trade
There is a gun show coming up in a couple of weeks in my area. I am wanting to trade a S&W 637 toward a G26.I bobbed the hammer on the 637.It looks good, but i am wondering if this will reduce the value of it ?Should i blow $50 plus shipping to replace the hammer or trade as is ?
Also , can i expect to find a better deal at a gun show vs. local dealers ?

I don't know if the bobbed hammer will make much of a difference. Either way, you're going to have to add cash, probably a couple hundred dollars or more, to make the deal.
And gun shows are pretty hit and miss. I've been to some where prices were the same or higher than local shops. I've also been to some where I found prices $50-100 lower than the local shops.

i may have gone to my last gun show ever today. the previous 2 gun shows were the worst i had ever been to, and this one today was by far the worst of all. i just don't see the point anymore
there were maybe 4 small tables of handguns total. selection was ridiculous. prices were even more so. saw a ruger p95 (blue), they had it priced at $399.00. saw an h&k p7 psp B grade (finish looked terrible) for $899. the cheapest new glock was $499. add in tax, plus the $10 admission to the show, and there wasn't a single halfway decent deal to be found

There is one in LR next weekend, good luck. I have not seen many good
deals at a show in a LONG time. I will go to this show just to pick up a few
good ammo cans....:wavey::wavey:

Better than the P6s they are selling for $599-$659...You know, the same ones they just bought from AIM for $269 :wow::wow::wow:

I live a few minutes from AIM and yesterday I went to another local gun shop. They had a P6 for $469. That's what I paid for my last NIB GLOCK.

I would post a Wtt ad on here and any local shooting forum you got. people hold onto their 26's, but I just paid $400 out the door for a like new without box on an internet deal.
I would love a P6 but nobody around here does a transfer for a reasonabl amount..

Who...???
If you were going to trade the S&W 637 I'd buy a replacement hammer and include it in the trade. That way you cover your bases in someone was interested in your pistol, but didn't want the bobbed hammer. Box and paperwork are a plus. Even better if it's a pre-lock version.
As far as a trade... you might get lucky and find a used G26 that you could swap even for. Be willing to add cash for a NIB Glock.

I would try to keep the 637.They make a good BUG.

But everyone who bought the P6 for $259 or $269 (whenever you ordered from AIM) knew that you were getting the best SIG ever made and that the value far outweighed the cost.
I anticipate the SIG P6's to fetch $450-$550 the more everyone sees what gems they are. It was not kept a secret on these boards by any means. :dunno:
