I am seriously considering dumping my HK USP 45 Tactical in order to finance a G21 SF and a TLR-2...
I think I've lost my mind, but I cannot stop obsessing on the G21 SF. The whole GLOCK package has completely taken me over... it's bad... real bad...
If I had the money to spare, I'd just go and buy one, but I can't right now... I'd hate to dump anything, but... UGH!!!

If I had a USP .45, I'd definitely take the first chance to trade to for something. Some people like them and they aren't really looking to shoot that fast, so that's fine - I may not be that fast, but I don't need a gun holding me back.

:goodpost: I definitely seem to be agreeing with you more and more!
I'll be perfectly honest! I find the G-21 much more comfortable to shoot for extended periods of time. This is because of the wider backstrap that is ever so much easier on the web of my older gun hand.
Awhile ago an acquaintance handed me his brand new H&K USP 45 with a fully loaded clip. I, only, got half way through that clip before I cleared the pistol and handed it back to him with a comment about how, 'nice' it is; but, I didn't want to burn up his ammo.
This fellow was a good shot; we stood next to each other and fired downhill from about 30 yards away into a line of cans he had put out. I didn't notice any accuracy advantage to either pistol. We, both, hit what we were aiming at. I did, however, much prefer shooting my own Bar-Sto barreled G-21. ;)

Don't do it, be patient and save up, unless you plan on buying a Mark 23.

Glocks are so simple and reliable, which is what I want in a SD pistol.
I wouldn't. Each has it's purpose. Personally I think the HK is a nicer gun and more comfortable to shoot/more accurate. I like Glocks better for carry. You should probably put a suppressor on that Tac.

Wait it out. Buy the GLOCK when you've saved for it. The HK will come in your dreams and drag you down. ;)

If you like the HK a lot, but are just nagged to try a G21sf, then I agree with others telling you to keep the HK and save for the G21sf. You'll probably regret getting rid of a gun you liked a lot, even IF you turn out to love the G21sf. Just a guess.
If you want only ONE gun, then at least go to a range, rent the Glock you like and test it out before you buy it.
But, then again, keep in mind: Range rentals aren't always (nor usually) exactly like the brand new pistols, since range rentals are used and abused, and/or modded, for all you know. Still, it'll at least give you an idea, instead of simply holding it in a gunshop.

What do you want for the USP? If you've already convinced yourself that you want to downgrade, and won't be talked out of it, I might be able to help you out.

Ranges that rent do not exist here... it sucks.
If they did, I might have saved myself on more than a few impulse buys like this.
What do you want for the USP?Well, lemme see here...
It's got about 500 down the pipe, and would come with the following:
Heinie Slant-Pro Straight 8 night sights (1 year old... currently installed)
Original black adjustable sights
Ambi Control Lever Kit (currently installed)
Original V1 Control Lever + a V2 control Lever (I'll install either for $25)
HK Thread Protector with spare o-rings
LEM Kit (I'll install for $75)
3 Hi-Cap Mags & 1 Ten-rounder
GG&G Light Rail Adapter (will fit TLR-1/2 & ITI M3/M6)
Original Black Tactical Soft-Shell Case with HK logo
Original HK Tool-Kit (slightly used, but it's all there and replaceable)
Extra barrel O-rings, sight adjustment key, + all paperwork and shell casing
Lefty Haugen Handgun Leather Speed Scabbard III HolsterI'm thinking something in the range of $1200 for everything + FFL fees and shipping...

I dont think you are crazy at all, because I am in the same situation with a kimber that I am seriously thinking about getting rid of.
Let me know what you decide to do.
Years ago I bought a SW CQB .45, It jammed once on the first mag. I went home from the range, cleaned it, went to a gun shop, sold it, bought a glock 17 with trijicons brand new with 3 mags. I shot that thing so much the backstrap tattooed my right hand. (good thing though, I thought I'd never get rid of those pecker marks.)

If you like it, keep it and save.
If you don't care much for it, dump it and get the GLOCK.
If you don't know whether you like it or not, then you've got bigger problems than this. :tongueout:

Why is that too high or too low?
They're selling in the plastic cases with only two mags for about $1000 New or LNIB without ANY of the accessories I'm offering in several places I've checked.
The cases with cleaning kits alone sell for about $175 since HK doesn't make them anymore. Add to that the extra control levers ($40 for V2 and $70 for ambi), the LEM kit which is really hard to find ($50), the GG&G rail adapter ($50), Heinie sights ($125), extra mags ($50), and the holster ($85), I think that's a pretty decent deal.
So, technically, $900 for the used as new gun + $645 in accessories...
$1,200 seems like a decent deal to me, but maybe I'm wrong.

I bought a HK 45 USP about 10 years or so ago, they were about $550, at the time. I don't shoot this gun very much. It is my chair side weapon to repeal boarders. With the prices as they are now, I couldn't afford to buy a new replacement. I certainly do like the one I have and wouldn't consider a sale. It's just nice knowing it's there, if needed. It has always been reliable and more accurate than I can shoot it.

Glocks are pretty affordable. I think I'd just save up until I could afford the 21SF. Both are great guns for sure.
It is a used gun, with used accessories.
I think 1,200 is High.
Just sell the case if it is worth $175.
That would make you a third of the way there to the gun.
If you like it, keep it and save.
If you don't care much for it, dump it and get the GLOCK.
If you don't know whether you like it or not, then you've got bigger problems than this. :tongueout:

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say.
At
I just got a new G21SF... love it.
I was going to get USP Tactical, been getting real excited about it...
A few friends and I were talking about it and it really got me to thinking. A bunch of em have USPs (in various different configurations). It seems though that most (if not all) don't get shot too often. They're "too precious." Too much of a nice gun (and a wee bit on the expensive side) to be shooting (abusing) a lot.
I feared I'd be in the same boat, not wanting to shoot such an expensive (to me at least) handgun and really put it through the ringer. I know I don't have that problem with Glocks. The G21SF seemed perfect, and is it ever. For the life of me, I can not figure out why I waited so long.

Dump the BMW (HK) and put the money towards 2 VW's (Glocks.) Maybe a 21SF & a 30SF.

That's a personal thing. I like the option of cocked and locked. I would keep it. I shoot my H&K just as fast as as my G21.
I just bought a Mark 23 and sold my G-21 SF. I'm happy with what I did. Whatever works for you, I just can't imagine selling a factory threaded gun for a standard full size gun. If you don't have a suppressor, you should definitely get one to put on your uspt. Just avoid Gemtech Blacksides for your suppressed 45 needs.
