I'm thinking about getting a 32c. What do you guys think about this gun? Does the ported barrel help with recoil and double tapping? Any general comments on it would be helpful. Thanks.

I've got a 17C and love it. Right now it's my Unlimited Gun. It doesn't reduce recoil but it does change the way it recoils. It does feel alot better and is quicker.

I'm a little worried about the flame and debris coming out of those ports, if you use it for a carry piece. Sure looks awesome and the one I used did change the recoil and made double and triple tapping a breeze. Probably a great gun for the range, but I'm just not into hospital burn units and skin grafts.

Anyone use it on a daily basis as a carry piece?

My only problem with the C models, and the .357Sig C models specifically, is you buy a great pistol, that shoots an excellent, extremely high velocity round. You then neuter this speed by getting a ported model. I know its probably only in the relm of 50-80fps, but why bother?

I've got a 31, I really like it. I've shot a ported G-32 before, personally, it was to much for me. I've got some probs with my left eye anyways, and the flash, when the lights were dim, was just a little to much for me. I have no probs with my 31 in no lights.

G-17C? I don't even know why they make such a beast. 9mm is so mild, I really couldn't imagine it being any lighter. I don't think I'd like it for Personal Protection either, for the reasons stated above.

If the recoil of the 32 is to the point you need to consider the C model, perhaps another caliber would be a better option. I don't know how long you've been shooting, but if you're new to the sport, .357Sig ammo might be cost prohibitive to getting lots of practice. Another strong point for the 9mm. Lots of good, cheap ammo, and very reliable PD ammo. Personally, I prefer my G-23.

Free advice, take it FWIW.
