It has about 300 rounds through it now. It's my gf's gun and I want to make sure it's working good.
Also when we cleaned the gun it did have brass shavings from the shell casings in the barrel. I haven't noticed that with my Khar Mk9 or Glock 26 yet.

Eh... my Glock 22 looks the same. Poor quality and design IMO but they should keep working. I wouldn't worry. It does suck...
The brass could of been that batch of ammo being a bit different rubbing up on the slide.
I'd say give it a good cleaning. My Bersa wore horribly. The paint on the frame actually chipped off. I ended up selling it to my friend's dad for $200. It's his problem now. It can't even feed a full magazine.
If you are asking about the brass coloring in the middle of the slide, don't worry about it. My M&P does it too. You should be able to scrub it off.
That gouge on the left side of the slide doesn't look normal though. I've not seen that before but I haven't looked at the insides of that many different guns.
In my unprofessional opinion, it is not good.

This one feeds 100% so far.
For a Bersa, it's normal wear. I had a friend who had the finish on a new one wear of in less than a month of carrying. Started rusting and everything.
BTW here is my Glock 22 slide. The indentations are deeper now then when I took the pictures...

This one is the blued model that we have.
I don't know if it's "normal" or not, but it looks pretty close to what mine does.

According to the factory certified gunsmith: it is normal and will wear to a point, and then stop. You can post in the tech section over at bersatalk.com, and he'll reply to you directly.

My G22 has the same wear in the slide also. It had me worried for a while but it functions flawlessly.

It looks like excessive wear to me. I had a Bersa Thunder and it showed no slide gouge marks at all.
Question...Did you clean that axil grease crap off the gun before you shot it? Then oil liberally with a gun oil, they love the stuff. If not, that might have caused the wear:crying:
The stripper bar rubs the brass while shooting so the brass marks are nothing to worry about.
But I would call Bersa CS to ask them about the slide wear. Lifetime warranty to original owner.

Good Luck
