View Full Version : Any new advances in guns?
Since Glock never really changes, I'll ask about all other companies...
Has anything new and exciting come out lately?...Maybe offering something or a combination of things that no other guns offer?
Thanks!

The new FNP-45 has many design features shared by SIG and Glock. However, how they've packaged this 14 shot .45 ACP is amazing, especially at a $550 price point!
:wow:

Does it have to be a handgun?
Does it have to be a handgun?
As long as it's not a bolt or a muzzle-loader where the new and exciting thing is that it comes in a new finish or can handle slightly more powerful ammo...

I'll worry about new advances after I get a FAL.

There his also a new compact pistol in works, can't think the name of it, but I'll find a link. It uses the same feed system as a Maxim gun and allows to have a full-length barrel in a pocket-size gun. Only prototypes are out, but it is itented for production. Someone on this forum might beat me to a link - it was discussed recently.

Oh I saw that. The recoil is supposed to shove the force back and down instead of straight back.
I'm anxious to see how it works out.
Thanks!

Couple of upcoming rifles come to mind:

Not revolutionary by any means, but something different.

Side charging one pcs upper with integrated rail system, that ejects down the mag well, with a round that penetrates armour, 50 round reliable in line magazines, and everyone has a AR................:whistling:

Nice looking pistol, but what about it makes it the most powerful 9mm pocket pistol?...I'm guessing it has to do with how they place the barrel far back enough in the slide that it actually has a longer barrel when compared to a pistol with similar overall length...?
How much more does it offer over a Kahr though?
Thanks!

Exactly right. Longer barrel in the same size as Kahr. Should make it more accurate and potent. Some people from rohrbaugh forum handled one at the Shot Show and mentioned that it feels a bit larger than R9, but very well made. There is an extensive thread on it on the Thehighroad.org forum, where the designer actually participated extensivelly. Consensus is that it will be in Rohrbaugh price range, if not more. Also, the gun is more complex and reliability was one of the issues that came up. Design is not new, but new for a handgun.

Here is another one:

PDW with odd cartrages like 5.7X28 just to name one are not new. Neither is a rifle design of this one, but combination of both makes this on more unique. Unfortunalely, we will probably never see it in suvilian market.
