SO... Im looking for a nice, well priced AR lower In Florida or around Orlando. I know of Anvil arms in Lakeland and Spike's tactical in Apopka. how are these? and are there any others that I should check out? I know at this point it's mainly about who's logo is cooler, but are there any others I should be aware of before I go with one of these? I'd like to stay as close to Orlando as possible so I can avoid Shipping and FFL fees ( but that darn sales tax!). Thanks.
Both are top notch. You can't go wrong with either.

I have heard good things about Anvil Arms. Also, I'm not sure if they still do it but at one point, they would laser engrave anything you wanted on the opposite side of the lower from their logo. I saw pics of some pretty cool ones. Anything from a USMC logo to the Punisher logo. Even say Marvin the Martian on one. Its not for everyone, but it could make your AR unique.

You don't have to buy one made in FL for that. Gun shops around here have lowers from Wilson, Rock River, Double Star, etc., in stock - doesn't mean they had to be made here.

Anvil arms are good people and local boys for me. They will (probably) be at the Lakeland gunshow this weekend. Spikes seems OK too but I have purcahesd more from Anvil. I would imagine both will be at the Lakeland show.
Might be worth a drive over? But given the price of gas, maybe not!
Orlando show July 5-6 FYI

I'm planning a build right now with an Anvil lower. I'll probably get the snake and "Don't Tread on Me" lasered onto the magwell.
I ordered a lower from Spike's Tactical and got it the NEXT DAY at my FFL.

Spikes for me. They built an awesome upper for me at a good price. I'm getting their .22 upper soon. There's really no need to go anywhere else. Anvil Arms engraved the Spikes lower for me and put their logo on, so I'm not thrilled with them. This is a spikes lower and upper with a bunch of other stuff.

thanks for the info! and Yeah, Im gonna be at the show the weekend of july 5th and 6th in Orlando. I really like the way Spike's has the little MP5 style "safe" and "fire" indicators but I don't really like the full auto setting unless it's really full auto. I guess I could always "crayon" the red and white onto any lower though. I'll see what I can find at the gun show coming up.

I purchased an AR from Spikes 2 years ago and my father purchashed one as well. He is great to deal with, uses quality parts, and his prices are extremely reasonable. I have also heard that Anvil are good to deal with, but don't know too much about their products.
