I went shooting with a friend today who owns a 24/7. I was trying out my new 2nd gen G17 with a few G18 mags. ;-)
Anyway, he had a good number of Fail to Fires with the Taurus. But unlike a glock you can keep pulling the trigger on the same round with that pistol. So he was able to make every round fire with a few pulls.
We were talking about what was wrong and since I know Glocks I suggested he might have gotten oil and sediment in the striker pin chanel (or whatever that's called on a Taurus) Sure enuf it did seam very 'juicy' all around and over oiled.
I suggested maybe a cleaning agent shot in thru the fireing pin hole and then air drying it or something. Then I told him how easy it was with a glock to disasemble the slide and showed him you can do it with a pen.
Long story short he tried to take his slide apart at home and now has a bunch of pieces and no clue what to do.
Anyone have a source for info on full slide disassembly on a Taurus 24/7? I'm guessing he's gonna have to go to a gun smith, but if I had some good instructions I'd try to get things working for him and save him the money.
Any ideas?
PS, that's why Glocks rock.
