I am waiting for my new 19 to arrive, you have to wait to get the LEO pricing. Anyway I bought it so that I would have a 9 to practice with. My county issues a 45 and my off duty glock is a 40. We used to get free 45 practice ammo, but budgets are getting tight around here. I am in Northern VA. Does anyone know where I could get a good price on about 1000 rounds? Local or mail order would be fine. Thanks in advance.

Yep, yep, and yeppers.
A good deal is not like they were even 4 months ago. And 4 months from now they will probably be 30-40% higher.....
So "bite the bullet" and get yourself 5K today. You will be happy with yourself in a matter of months.

Hell I think WalMart still has 100 round packs for $18-19. That might be your best bet to avoid shipping charges, but you'll incur tax.
Other than that www.georiga-arms.com has reasonably priced ammo because it is "factory re-loads".

$178 shipped for 1000 rounds.
Thats a good price. Any problems shooting the aluminum casings?

This is the best factory practice and competition ammo I have ever shot. Much better than Winchester. Same for the rest of my family members. Tens of thousands of rounds.

We don't pay tax for our ammo in Oregon. So it's still a heck of a buy here.
It was $10.96 a few years ago and then it went to 15.00 and now it's 18. something. But it's still the best buy.

I know there are many opinions on Wolf ammo and some have experienced no problems. I will not use Wolf ammo in any of my pistols based on observed anecdotal experience. YMMV.

Yeah I was gonna say, I still find it hard to beat the 100 round wwb packs for 18 bucks. You figure 1k rounds is 10 boxes, so about $180 plus tax.

Shooter, only if you have one close to you! At $4.50 a gallon, it can make it as expensive.

There is nothing wrong with Wolf ammo. The rumors about the ammo are completely false. I have shot 700 + rounds of the stuff and it works perfectly.
I know people who have shot umpteen thousands of rounds through their Glocks and rifles without a single problem.
I hope most people won't buy Wolf. It leaves more for me and may keep the price down.

Yep! WalMart was $18.42 yesterday for Winchester white box 9mm.

We really need a time machine. Just a couple of years ago 9mm blazer was 3.89 / 50 at Academy. Now it's over 8 bucks, and they tell us inflation is about 5%!
www.natchezss.com is selling it for 7.99.

Thanks to suggestions here, I have discovered wally world as a good source of practice ammo. WWB is slowly replacing remington among my practice stash. I used ammunitiontogo.com to buy my defense rounds. Which reminds me, I need more defense ammo

I got 100 rds of Blazer Brass 9mm for $17.94 tonight at Walmart. $8.97/50 x 2. Seems decent enough for target ammo.
