I'm thinking of buying a quality "grownup" .22 pistol. Right now I'm considering the 617 in 4 in. 10 shot, the snubie 317, or the Kimber Rimfire target. I have the requisit MKII, Neos, Walther P22 types, but I want something built with the same quality and materials as a centerfire.
Pro's, con's or gereral impressions with these 3 would be apreciated..aswell and any suggestions of stuff I have overlooked.
Smith & Wesson 41

One of the best you can get.

I'm getting my dad's S&W model 41. They're a little more pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Since you mentioned a couple of revolvers, I'll toss in another one. A Dan Wesson 22. Built on the same frame as their 38/357 revolvers (about the size of an "L" frame Smith and Wesson), they ARE the same as a centerfire handgun. No longer made, but worth looking for.
It's the bottom one.

I just bought myself a Browning Buckmark Standard. Very nice gun.
If you want a wonderful .22lr with plenty of aftermarket support get a S&W 41, and never sell it.
From what I have been told they are produced in limited quantities at S&W, so that is one reason the price is so high. Some of the family uses them in the Sportsman Team Challenge.
I have shot plenty of them and feel it is one of the greatest .22lr pistols.
You say you have tried the Mark II's, but have you tried them in any aftermarket configurations?
I just finished this piece and would venture to guess it could play with the Model 41 any day.

The MKII is all you need. You already have one of the finest and most versitile 22lr's out there..IMO

How about a TC Contender with a .22LR barrel? I have always wanted one of these, and will get one sooner or later.
Ruger MkII and the Browning Buckmark are the two reasonably priced .22 handguns I recommend for target shooting. I LOVE my MkII and my dad LOVES his Buckmark.
Now if you want to get even more serious there is the S&W 41.
If you want to get even more serious then there is Benelli

Fienwerkbau
Walther (NOT the P22)

And if you can find one, but very affordable comparatively, the Baikal IZH-35M. Here is mine.

I just ordered a Tactical Solutions 4.5" fluted threaded upper for my MkII. This will play host to an AAC Prodigy. I hope it works out well.
It all depends on what you want to do.
The beretta U22 Neos is a fine, inexpensive weapon, that can and does play with the big dogs... Though it's design is much more modern, and not for everyone.

you already got all you need out of a 22 pistol, if i were buying anything i would get the short 317 for a pocket pistol or buy a tacsol upper for the ruger.

I have a Neos w/ an OK Reddot that is amazing. NEVER jamed and accurate as hell. I absolutly hate my MkIII 22/45. It has a short, threaded, Tactical Solutions barrel (the green one w/ no flutes). Although it is very accurate, it jams on the first 4-5 rounds out of the mag no matter what I try. I keep it around because it looks so good and is SOOO quiet with my Tac 65 Suppressor.
I actualy ended up getting an Advantage Arms upper for my Glock 19. I figured instead of buying another gun to screw with my muscle memory, I cound just get more IDPA practice with my 19. I shot it a few times today, and its great. Not exactly what I was in the market for, but probly more usefull.
Thanks for all the help, I will probly still get a 41 one day.
