I own a dozen or so pistols and for the past few months decided to concentrate on two pistols so I'm not changing guns so often that I'm mediocre at accuracy because of the going back and forth between guns of different ergos, sites and calibers. The two pistols were both Beretta's: 96 Brigadier Inox and a Cougar 9mm...really different guns.
What started as being lazy ended up being a test of both pistols of over 1000 rounds each w/o cleaning.
The 96 got mostly Miwall reloads (600 rounds) and the rest Winchester white box and around 100 rounds of speer gold dot 165 gr. The miwall is pretty dirty ammo...All spilt between 5 factory mags (10 & 11 rd).
The Cougar got 900 rounds of Winchester white box, 50 rds each of Fiocchi and speer gold dot split between 4 factory mags.
I didn't do any thing to clean, not a wipe down, boresnake...nada...No lube added
They ran 100% not one FTF, FTE... I liked shooting both guns and the trigger on the Cougar is worked in so good a friend at the range can't believe it doesn't have a trigger job. (The 96 has the "D" spring in it so the trigger is nice too).
I'm chickening out now...These guns did their part. It's time to clean.
I did become a better shot at both pistols and next I will pick two more out of my collection and do this again. I think I'll go for my XD-40 and my Sig 220 or Springfield 1911 to see if they do as good.
