I recently picked this one up via a trade... Not really interested in it anymore.. An officer on another shift offered to trade a year old stainless P220 for this 1911. It's a Para PX745SD. Previous owner said it had roughly 250 rounds through it. It has an extended safety and a few other minor mods. Two 7 round mags and one 8 round.
The P220 has six 8round mags. It has has a rail on the weapon. His has rougly 750 rounds and just has the normal holster wear...
Would ya'll do an even exchange if ya'll were me or no? If no, add cash, etc?
Thanks in advance for any replies :wavey:

The filters at work won't let me see pictures:crying: but....based on what your saying I would do it but then again I like the 220. It is going to depend on which one you prefer though

The Sig P220 are very nice guns, and if you don't care about his one why not try something new; that's what I've always done.
sounds like a good trade if u dont care for ur gun and like the 220 better

I would trade.
Just my preference; I have nothing against the Para.

I don't really like Paras so yes I would trade even up. Throw those grips in the garbage first though.

If he'll make an even trade for a stainless P220 I'd not only say yes, but HELL YES.

All of ya'll say yes while everyone in his camp thinks he's getting the better deal.
I'm just clueless as to who is getting a better deal because I know absolutely nothing about the 1911..
Pure value-wise, I'd say the Sig's a better deal too. Unless it's been heavily abused during that year.

Trust GT... take the Sig and run with it.

Do it.
I have a P229 and love it, most accurate .40 gun I have owned out of six .40 guns.
I'd have a P220 if there were no G21.
220 is a waaaaaaay better gun than any Para anyway, and I'm a Para fan.
JMHO

New selling price on the Sig is about $900 with the mags at $45 each.
new selling price on the Para is about $800 with the mags about $25 ea.
Just going by new prices without seeing the condition of the guns.
I say Sig with 4 extra mags is about $1080 in NEW value and the Para is about $825.
I say the Sig is a better deal, but condition of the guns will matter a lot as will the local market. Everyone wants a 1911, not everyone wants a Sig.

Consider it a done deal. Thanks again for all of the info!

i can't see the picture to give you my opinion. can you load them using another format.
how much do you think your gun is worth? you can compare that to a p220, which can be price all over the place from the $400 blued version i have to the $1300 some people have.
also, a sig can take a few thousands rounds without any problem. my p220 saw at least 10k rounds from the previous owner and i personally put ~3k rounds through it in the past 5 years. nothing requires replacement and it should stay that way for another ~20k rounds. the sig design is very sturdy and being all metal helps. i never like the spring setup on 1911s but i keep mine very greased up to prevent wear so no problem so far.
If he'll make an even trade for a stainless P220 I'd not only say yes, but HELL YES.
ooh ya!
i'd do it!

Not a Sig guy and I would still do it.

For some reason I just don't care for Para 1911 pistols, so I would take the trade. In general I wouldn't trade a mid-range 1911 (Springfield, DW, etc) for a P220. Nothing against the SIG or Para, but I'd rather have a different 1911 than either.
In terms of your trade, I think you are getting the better deal. In this case the SIG is better than the Para in my mind. Since this other guy and his buddies think he's getting a better deal, maybe you can ask him to sweeten the pot with some extras like some ammo.

I would definitely make that trade. Although I love my 1911s, I have an equal admiration for P220s... and, in this case, Sig > Para IMHO. Do it.
Personally, i would trade. I own 1911's, but i really love the P220.

YES:cool:
I'd definately do it. A Sig p220 for a Para? No question about it. Just do it as soon as possible. I have 2 P220's and have owned 4 total. they are great .45's. Plus you can carry safely with a round in the chamber.
