View Full Version : Man, I love this gun!
Took the P228 out for a "heavy" range session this afternoon. I shot 500 rounds over the course of two hours. The pictures below are the last target I sent down the range. I was getting fatigued, so some of the groups are looser than I would like them to be, but over all not too bad. The target was between 20 and 25 yards out.

I simply cannot sing enough praises over this gun. It is hands down the most accurate pistol that I own. I should mention that the "4s" were done strong hand only.

That says allot about the shooter too. Good shootin.
Thanks for the compliment.
I have a 228 and I like it but I have the Glock bug badly and it doesn't get the range time it should. 9's don't get much smoother than a 228.

How fast were you shooting the strings?
Congrats on a great pistol.

Roughly a second between each shot. I ran a few double taps, but I'm still working on my accuracy on the second shot.

Was this gun previously broken in?

My P228 was a Sig Certified Pre-Owned "Red Box" gun. Although I couldn't tell the gun had ever been fired. So there's no real way to tell how many rounds went though it before I adopted her. This is by far my current favorite gun to shoot... beating out my 1911 and G31.

If those are off-hand, that's some good shootin'. Nice pistole man.

Very good. Unless I'm wrong, if you can't tell it's been shot, it's probably not been that many rounds through it. For your first time shooting any pistol, those groups at 25 yards are pretty impressive.
Thanks guys! I am very please with this gun. This is my third range visit with it. I am always pleasently surprised at how well this gun shoots.
The shots around the 4s were done with my strong hand. I wish I could shoot that well with my weak hand. I still have much work to do to get them as tight as my two hand groups- which is what the rest of the groups are.
Great shooting!
looks Great:thumbsup:
Great gun, good shooting as well.

Those are some pretty good 20-25 yard offhand groups. Nice shooting.
