I have a Ruger SP101 (KSP-321XL) that I plan to make my primary concealed carry weapon. I will be ordering a Milt Sparks IWB holster soon. My question is, for those that carry this gun do you find the factory rubber grips have a tendency to be a little grabby with your cover garment? Especially if you were light weight cover garments like an untucked T-shirt? I like the size and shape of the factory grips, but other rubber grips I've used had a tendency to do this. If so, what after market grips would you consider? I was looking at Eagle Grips and Badger Custom Grips. What is your opinion of these? What else would you recommend?

personally i think the factory grips suck, and the hogues aren't much better
i have trausch grips on mine. they're larger than the factory grips, but they have the best ergonomics of any revolver grip i've used, and the rubber is more like a 'nylon' (not tacky like the hogues or factory grips)

I think Ruger is shipping their double action revolvers with the hogue rubber grips now. I know the GP100 is coming that way now. But anyway, if you do get the Sp101 with the wood & rubber grips, they (in my experience) did not grab at your cover garment much at all. I changed mine to the Hogue rubber grips which are a bit grabby, but I like the grips so much that I don't really mind. It hasn't been a problem.

The supplied grips are the best for absorbing recoil and will conceal well. I didn't find them grippy enough to grip clothes. I tried the Trausch grips and they were the best for shooting imo but they didn't absorb the 357 mag recoil as well as the stock grips did. The ivory color Trausch grips are a hard plastic, not rubber the black ones.
Unless you plan on shooting 38's out of the it, I'd stick with one of the rubber grips or the stock grip.

Yes the factory grips are comfortable & yes they are tacky enough to snag clothing. I went w/ Eagle SS grips in smooth wood. Yes they conceal extremely well, & yes they make it abit harder to handle full house 357mags. Life is full of trade offs.:dunno:
