Problems with AMT Hardballer long slides

Have you ever had problems with the AMT Hardballer Long Slide .45s? Partulary the two piece barrels.

I had an original 2 piece barrel that split it's entire length. After sticking it in the back of the safe for ten years,I found out that Storm Lake makes a barrel. I think it was $105 and needed a little fitting. It has turned my gun into a very accurate and reliable piece. I use Wilson mags and it just keeps on shootin'. This seems like a well put together gun and the barrel was a poor choice to save money on the manufacturers part.
