I got the chance to get the LG-405 grips for my 642. I want to keep the grips the same size (or smaller) than the standard grips that come with it.
Can anyone give me some kind of size comparison???

The LG-405 and LG-105 grips are close to the original grips size.
I've used the early CT grip for several years and practice with it a good bit. I tried the LG-405 recently but it felt too big. I juess I'm just used to the smaller grip.
If you can, try both and see which fits your hand better.

I bought my 642 with the crimson trace already on it. I tried out both at the gun store and like the CT grips better. I have had it for a little less than a year now and love it.
The 405s are thinner than the original grips (uncle Mike's boot??), but are a little bigger behind the trigger guard. They also have the "recoil reduction pocket" which make it nicer to shoot. I really like mine.
I wish I had a better pic:

I have the same grips on my 642 and absolutely love them. I bought several other grips of various sizes, shapes and materials but kept coming back to the stock Uncle Mike's boot grip. Then I tried on a pair of the Crimson Trace LG-405s. They not only add the laser--which is a must for me on all of my carry handguns--but they are the most comfortable available, IMO. They are slightly thinner, but provide little palm swells, and thinner is good. They cover the backstrap (a good thing) but do not add any length, the dimension that makes the little revolver difficult (if you can say it's difficult) to conceal.
Get 'em. You'll like 'em. :)
I'll be honest, When I frist read the title, I thought... Crimson Trace is making a green laser now?.... Freaking Sweet!!!!
Then I got let down..LOL
Good luck with your grips bud... They rock..
