Hi All - Congratulations on getting this club established.

For those that have collectors expertise/experience, can you tell me if handguns with conscutive serial numbers enhance their value? I'm sure it depends upon the particular weapon, appeal value, age, etc., but overall, does it have much weight with collectors?

Without trying to hedge or being unresponsive, I can only tell you that it depends. It depends on the collector. (Some especially like it.) It depends on the story with the gun. (If you can show a matched pair belonged to someone, like SAAs to John Wayne, etc., they'll be worth more, and the matched serials can establish some of the provenance.)

Glock has pretty much tried to prevent consecutive serial numbered guns from going out. I tried to get consecutive numbered G-20s and couldn't... Now, if you're talking a commemorative, it's actually a little easier to get consecutive numbers, but not many I know even try....

I have "Matching" numbers on Glocks only on my Defense Set. These were made so that the mid-size and mini-size pistols had the same numbers, but with one difference in serial prefix code. So, my DS has AAA113 and AAB113 serial numbers.

neat to have but in my experience will not enhance the value.

I used to work for an importer. we got a large batch of Lugers. many consecutive pairs and a group of twelve that were consecutively numbered. we sold them for the same price consecutive or not. I did sell a pair to john martz to work his magic on them for a customer who ordered two, a45 and 22 magnum.

I got lucky couple years ago and scored a set of consecutive serial numbered G35s. I doubt if they're worth any more, but I feel fortunate to have scored them nonetheless.

I found 2 OD G-19s that are consecutive s/n. I couldn't resist, had to buy 'em, but they're prolly not worth more than normal.

Is there a reason??

I too ended up with a pair of consecutive OD G19s. It was not on purpose, it just worked out that way.

I just tucked them away as spares anyways. Of course if some Glock collector wanted to pay me a $1400 for the pair, he could have them!

Is there a reason??

Only that their hyper-focused interest in LE/Govt. contracts have made them nearly completely unresponsive to collectors. Only one guy that's ever worked for them has any sense of being a collector, and he's gone from the company (a long time ago). He started the GCA.

I called Glock and asked for a consecutive pair of G-20s, and they said, we don't sell to FFLs, you need to call a distributor. So, I called around to a couple distributors and asked for consecutive number G-20s, and they said, "Glock doesn't send us a block of guns from a series run, so we can't put them together ourselves, if we wanted to." Now, that was about 15 years ago, and it sounds like with the matching OD G19s these guys have, this may be changing, but I've since lost interest, since I've got all the G20s I need!

The local gun shop just got in three G17's with consecutive serial numbers. Also, two G19C's. They weren't ordered that way. It's just how they came from the distributor.

I've long wanted guns with consecutive serial numbers, but this is the first real opportunity that has come along. Bad timing. Faced with having to pay for two or three guns at the same time from a wallet that's still thin from the holidays, I'll probably have to pass. :dunno:

I have "3" Talo Limited Edition model 23's consecutive serial numbers. All 3 are new in the box, never fired!

Serial numbers:

LSD 792
LSD 793
LSD 794

One may be sold, waiting to hear from the guy. If interested, PM me. Sorry, I do not have a digital camera to show you pics.

I have added handle plugs to them, nothing else.

I bought a Pair of G23's in Sept of 1990 and they are consecutive. One is mine and one is my brothers. PFx35 and PFx36. Kinda fun to have consecutive numbered guns.

As a side note.... I ordered some SW 642 No Locks and three arrived all consecutive! Almost made me wanna keep them!

I have a set of G19s and a set of G21s that are consecutive with each other.

So G19s = xxx817 & 818
G21 = xxx320, 321

for example.

My wife and I have consecutive serial numbers on G19C. Great to have them. I told the dealer to have consecutive numbers and he called around.
