View Full Version : Pet peeve: People who constantly nod while talking to them...
I'm not talking about the occasional nod to show that they are listening to you. I am talking about those that look like a damn bobble head doll all the time.
Stop it! Watching you twitch is making me forget what I am trying to tell you.

I nod when DepChief talks because his talking puts me to sleep:tongueout:
Even worse, those that finish your sentence with you. Please don't do that.

...don't do that. Yeah, that is annoying too.

If you would not tell the same boring story over and over again they would not be able to finish the sentence for you:whistling:

...and please don't flutter your eyelids when speaking to me. That's just weird.
OX, mi amigo. You're getting married. Did you imagine that you'd be allowed to talk? :tease:
NB: okie passes gas while folk talk to him. Much better than the nodding head.

What? You don't like people that can read your mind? :tongueout:

The people who nod their heads while they are telling you something, like "Wouldn't you want..." or "Don't you love it when..." and they are nodding, and next thing YOU are nodding and agreeing with them?
This is taught in sales training.

Sure, women batting their eyelashes at me is always a welcome gesture. :wavey:
Fluttering your eyelids with your eyes rolled back like Linda Blair on the otherhand... No.
I've seen two people do this in conversation in the last few months, and it weirds me right the ---- out.
Rather have them look at the pretties as they walk by and totally ignore you?

Now I'm gonna be all paranoid about nodding when I see you next weekend!
Perhaps I'll just put on a green tank top and distract you

Note to Ox. Bring camera, post pics.
I have this ability to look a person in the face, acknowledge what they say, but not really hear them.
It pisses my Brother off to no end.

I developed the ability while being around my Grandfather. He would tell the same stories over, and over. He's gone now, so I wish I would have listened.
One time my Brother spent like 10 minutes explaining something to me, then yelled "you wern't listening at all, were you". Me being caught, was how my family caught on to me.
He was not happy to have to explain himself again.
