View Full Version : One of my best girl friends and I went to see....
Sex and the City tonight!
It was a good movie!
Neither of us have ever watched the TV series.
I think we were the most naive ladies in the theatre, though. We gasped at several scenes.
My friend leaned over and said, "This must be rated R!"
Well, I'm here to say, R rated movies have changed ALOT!!!!
But it was quite funny and actually had a good storyline!
:whistling: For a couple of "Mature Ladies", we handled it all quite well, and laughed a lot!
BTW...we saw the movie at Downtown Disney....then had dinner at House of Blues.
It was a great evening!
The ladies in the series was butt ugly IMO:alex:

The 70s rated R movies were alot worse than the current ones. Watch some of the dirty harry movies. Alot more nekkidness in them than just about any modern R movie that I have seen.

SG and I are big fans of the series. We watched it every Sunday night when it was on HBO. Have not seen the movie yet.
If you gasped at some of the scenes in the movie, you'd gasped at the series too.
SG and I have got to make a girls night to go see the movie.

I always thought Kim Catrell was HAWT for her age (she is like 50). Kristen Davis (Charlotte) was my other pick for the better looking ones. I never thought SJP was all that and well, the one that plays Miranda....well....not all that attractive....even for a red head.

Mrs. SC was addicted to that series. I for one couldn't stand to be in the same room when it was on. The story line wasn't that bad, I just couldn't stand SJP (still can't). Now if she were wearing a saddle and had a feedbag strapped to her head, I'd find her a little more believable.
Glad you enjoyed the movie, KCB. Dinner and a movie is always a good time! :wavey:

I agree....about the ladies! Kim Catrell looks awesome for being "like 50".
 I think Kristen Davis is very attractive...she plays the happily married...basically happy person in the movie. Beauty can come from within when you are happy! Miranda...Nope.

S&TC was for women what Seinfeld was for guys. Lots of truth spoken in the lines...especially Samantha's lines!

Kirsten Davis is a goddess, and I had a huge crush on Cynthia Nixon back when I was a teen and she was in 'The Manhattan Project".
But yeah... The other three aren't working for me either. And Kim Catrell fell by the wayside forever when she had the Spock hairdo as a vulcan in that Star Trek movie...

You never knew what Samantha was going to say!

Cynthia Nixon? :dunno: just never found her really attractive. At one point she was talking about her relationship with her boyfriend and being pregnant with their child (she was pregnant in real life and they wrote her pregnancy into the series), then on CBS Early Show, she was talking about her "partner". :wow: What a "life" change.

In the movie, you STILL don't know what Samantha is going to say....but sometimes she has to be careful because of "little ears" being present. THAT is hilarious.
I KNOW....I saw Cynthia Nixon on Oprah, I think it was...when they were promoting the movie!
I should have edited that. 'The other three including Cynthia aren't working for me'... I don't follow the show, but when I figured out who she was, it was a dissapointment.
They don't watch it so much any more, but Kirsten Davis is the voice of the mom spider on "Mrs. Spider's Sunny Patch", and when my kids would watch it, I'd stop and listen to her voice now and again.

But the girls LOVE their Aunt SG!
There is no telling what they are picking up on. They hear and see lots of things that we have NO CLUE that they are even paying attention. :whistling:

I know a TEACHER that has such a terrible potty mouth...I wonder how she turns it off to teach! But I've seen her turn it on and off at a seconds notice!

Yesterday STG's youngest one said she wanted to come "live with" me. I know my eyes widened and I shook my head "no". It would be a very dangerous thing...:whistling:
"Mr. Bob" wouldn't approve.
