You would be much better off picking something from a major manufacturer like Remington, Winchester, Federal, Speer, or Hornady. If you are just getting started you would be much better off buying loads for personal defence that use proven bullet designs. What ever you pick you need to make sure it has sure function in the gun you are carrying. One thing is for sure you can waste a lot of money on fancy catchy named ammo. Pick up a box of Speer Gold Dots in the 50 pack and give them a try for starters.

ROFL...
To start, stay away from any "Fang Face", or "Tiger Claw", or "Grizzly Bear Attack Formation" ammunition. It's all a bunch of crap...or to quote Admiral Ackbar, "It's a trap!".
Seriously, they're going to take an absurd amount of your money for what is a very mediocre round. Instead, buy a cartridge from a well known manufacturer. If you ask which of those is best, you'll get a different answer every time. For myself, I prefer either the Federal HST 9mm 147gr, or Hornady TAP 147gr. I won't lie, I end up buying the TAP more often because of the black nickel coating on the brass (it looks cool... :whistling:).
In short, I'd rather be caught with my pants down screwing a chicken then getting caught with the "fang face" crap in or near my gun.

So, after a great deal of time with "special" people involved with the design process; which "special" agencies have chosen this ammo for carry?
Bullets designs that had fast incapacitation times decades ago still have fast incapcitation times today and have a proven record.

Using chicken feathers is more politically correct since it's only kinky; using the whole bird is really perverted. :whip::therapy::tease:

here, try a box each of federal HST, speer gold dot, and maybe winchester ranger. find out what is accurate and feeds reliably in your pistol, and then buy a few more boxes after you decide on a round. they're all good quality ammo
you didn't list what caliber you were looking for, but you should be able to find what you need here:

as a general rule, i stay away from ammo with ninjas on the box

Basically almost any modern hollow point from any major manufacture works well.
Anything more specific is all personal opinion.
But, stay away from that over priced trash.

This ammunition is not proven on the street and therefor has no real world track record of effectiveness.
Looking at ballistic gelatin tests, it doesn't penetrate enough to meet that industry standard depth.
The is stuff is all hype and no meat. You certainly would have to buy a lot of it to test it in a carry gun and at that expense, you are still only guessing as to it's effectiveness.
Do yourself a favor and pick a load from one of the major manufacturers which has a proven track record of stopping badguys everyday on the streets.
These are proven rounds:
Remington Golden Saber
Winchester Ranger T series
Hornady XTP (or TAP FPD)
Federal Tactical Bonded
Speer Gold Dot
Major brands...major companies (you can include Double tap in this list)
I carry Winchester Ranger 127 +P+. Why, because I have a lot of it which I got for a good price and its a proven round with some street cred, I shoot it well and it feeds in all my 9's.
I also would carry any of the rounds J.P. listed in his proven round section or Corbon or HST, depending on what I could get, and for how much and what worked well in my guns.
I shoot 9mm and prefer the 124 grain and up bullet weights.
When I carried 10mm (135 Grain and up) and in 45 ACP (230 Grain) but that is all subjective and based on shooters preference.
Extreme Shock is considered something of a joke in most circles.

Any premium hollowpoint from the reputable manufacturers, such as Remington's Golden Saber, Speer's Gold Dot, Federal's HST, etc.
They're all going to perform about the same, since today's premium bullets are the results of many years and millions of dollars in research and development from the bullet companies.
Don't bother with Extremeshock ammo.

I carry Remington Golden Saber bonded. 147g in 9MM and 180g in .40SW. My guns seem to like them best. See what works best in your guns.
You would be much better off picking something from a major manufacturer like Remington, Winchester, Federal, Speer, or Hornady.
Try ANY manufacturer other than Extream Shox, they are gimmicky in the worst possible way.

+ infinity and beyond!
I like HST best, I have Golden Saber in my G27 right now though, waiting for the HST to arrive.

I think you should get in on the fang face ammo while the gettin's good. The price of NyTrilium just keeps rising.

It will drop in price when they start mining NyTrilium on Mars.

Anything that shoots. There's not really a BAD high-speed projectile. Any bullet is perfect for taking down a target. Try getting shot...you'll see what I mean:supergrin:

My two personal favorites are Hornady TAP 124gr in my G17 9mm and Speer Gold Dot 124 gr 9mm +P.
