Noisy monitor

Hello, I am getting a humming noise in my Screen(monitor). My speakers do not have it. It seems just to coming from the little speaker on my flat screen. I have a new Gateway vista with a Westinghouse flat screen. I'm at a loss. It will come and go now and then. Any feedback(no pun intended) would be helpful.

Is there an input plug associated with the monitor speaker that is just hanging loose and touching the PC case?

No there isn't. At times I can change the screen or scroll down and it will stop.
