View Full Version : mesa 8 round shellcarrier
does anyone have a picture of a Mesa 8 round shellcarrier mounted on a 590? Does it overhang the receiver at all?
also, a random question:
how long would it take to cycle the action and/or safety on a firearm until they no longer functioned properly? the course of several lifetimes? (see new sig line)
thanks everyone

For average use? Thousands upon thousands of times. You might get the odd bad part where it snaps or something, but it's unlikely.
Thanks MrMurphy. That is pretty much what I expected.
Now does anyone have a picture of that Mesa sidesaddle??
I don't have a picture for you, but I do have one on my Bennelli M1 Super 90 Practical.
You should know that that unit is machined aluminum and is built so that shells fit very snuggly and securely. They are intended more for tactical situations than competition. You need to get a firm grasp and pull the shell straight out and quite deliberately.
Good for holding shells secure. Bad for super fast loading. FWIW.

I found this picture on a Mossberg, from the mdtactical.com website.

Thanks for the pictures guys. It looks like the 8 round sidesaddle will work out well.

What would be the price on one of those 8 rounders and also the 6 round version?

I was wondering the same thing. It seems the Mesa shellholders cost a lot more than the basic Sidesaddles. I've never had a problem with the sidesaddles, but I've been thinking of trying the Mesa too.

I just put a 8 round one on my 870 remington. Very solid design and should last forever. Definitely worth the price.
