Ok ladies, I want to wear my hair up for my wedding, but I need to cover my big ears. :embarassed: I know I can search online, but if anyone has pics of some great styles, I'd be most grateful. :)

How are your bangs? One length? Then the sides are long, right?
If the bangs were longer and tapered, a couple of cute curls right in front of your ears would work...
If I want my hair up and have time to plan, I won't wash it that day so it "behaves" better when I tell it to do something. I spray some of the Fructis surf spray (I cannot remember the name) in and scrunch until it's dry. Then I make a really low ponytail and twist it a few times going up. Clip it with an octopus clip then fluff the ends that stick up. I can get away with the three minute updo with naturally curly hair.
Are you doing a veil? It could help hide your ears if you can stand the thing in front of your face. :)
Gee, I am a big help, ain't I?
Oh, who is going to give you away? Your sons? :)

I do have bangs, and my hair is tapered around my face. The curl thing sounds like it would work!
No veil, and I was thinking about having the boys escort me. :)
P. You could actually have some very fine, shorter layers cut into the sides of your hair that would just frame your face and cover ears. Later they would be under your hair until they grow back out to join the rest of your length.

I do have some shorter layers so that may work too.

You could do what I have been known to do: stand in front of the mirror with the mustache scissors (a must have so you can only cut eight hairs at a time  ) and snip little bits around until you get just enough.
Of course, i have enough hair for six people so I can hide anything very easily. It gets lost in the curls.
Mark would love that. I am glad that he got to give his approval before you were asked. I'm not saying Stephen won't either but he isn't as likely to feel like his father is being "replaced" :)

Stephen always has an opinion, and it tends to change from day to day.
Tim and I both feel strongly that his role will never be to replace Mark's dad. His dad will always be his dad, and Mark has never heard one negative thing about his dad come out of my mouth. Mark does really like Tim though, and is very happy that we are getting married.
I am way too chicken to cut my own hair. I went and had my hair colored and cut last Friday, and told my hair stylist the date. She is coming back from a trip early so she will be there to do my hair before the wedding.

I've been "forbidden" to cut my hair! Luckily for me my best friend does my hair. Boy, am I glad she has good taste!
Patricia,
You can log into this website below and upload your photo to "try on" different updos to get an idea.
Just an idea. I'm looking to see if I can find some of the websites that we
used to get ideas for updos for my girls' weddings.
I know that I had a few.
I tried one like this with a couple of girlfriends when we were bored with our hair"dos" not long ago. It was fun!

Hmmmm...that didn't take you to the page that I copied and pasted. But it does give some styles. I'll see if I can find the one I originally intended to post.
When you open the site above...near the top left corner, in pinkish redish letters it says....
UPDO HAIR STYLES - PICTURES OF UPDO HAIR STYLES
Click on that. Then scroll down to the bottom of that page and you can follow the directions to figure out how to log in and download a picture to
"try on" updo hairstyles on YOU in your haircolor!
It will probably also give you access to more hairstyles as well.
Have fun whatever you decide to do!

Stephen is a hoot. He is natured a lot like my best friends was, I think. :)
Mark is gaining a mischievous brother. Are you sure you can handle them both?
I'm glad things are still good between Mark and his father. I know so many people who have divorced and the kids lose a parent. Just because the adults can get along the kids suffer. That breaks my heart to see.
Mark is wise far beyond his years.
He picked a good man for his Mom
