Check on your dialect and see if you might have crossed over to the "other side"! Simply click on the correct answer. As you go, the quiz will automatically interpret each answer to show you what your answer implies about you. When you are done, press Compute My Score. Your score will be calculated as a percentage: 0% is pure Yankee and 100% is pure Dixie.

88% Dixie, and yes I had Confederate ancestors, and some who fought for the Union as well. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, so yankees think I'm a redneck and real rednecks think I'm a "city" boy.

73% Dixie. Funny part is nobody can tell where I am from by my accent. Dad from the backwoods of North Carolina (in his words, so far back they pumped the sunshine in and the moonshine out) and my mom from Illinois with me growing up in both Illinois and Georgia. So I ended up with a non-existant accent.

Interesting test. I came up 100% Dixie. I grew up and live in Washington State.

However, both of my parents are from the South, and I spent most summers in Tennessee (dad) and Kentucky (mom).

Stop shopping at WalMart

 That's what Boston could really use-- a big 'ol Wal-Mart. I'm serious, I tried buying an ironing board here and found that nowhere in Boston sells ironing boards! I ended up going to a suburb but still ended up paying $50 for the darn thing.

46% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Ain't NO Flippin' way this hillbilly should fall into that category. I don't care where I live!

Proof:

Pecan - A Pee Can is something you keep in your pickup truck so you don't have to stop as often when traveling between hunting spots!

Canopy - has 2 meanings.
1.) Something a poor southern girl has UNDER her bed.
2.) Something a rich northern girl in the Hampton's has OVER her bed.

Any question that I am without a doubt 100% Dixie? My cousins in NC and their friends actually adopted me as a "misplaced" Southerner. I do believe that makes it official.
Just because I "talk wrong" ..... LOL

GOD Bless America!
