Can someone tell me for sure which Beretta 92FS /M9 has the plastic coated triggers and safety levers? I am looking at an M9 and a 92FS that is Bi-tone . I cant tell .

Seriously,a magnet is the best way.Beretta doesn't have any information on when the plastic stuff started creeping in.If you can't physically handle them, there's no way of really telling. :(

Pretty much.
Plastic guide rods have been around for a while (handled several M9s with them up to 2 years ago and the pistols weren't new).

UPDATE ! I just traded my Springfield Armory 1911 for a Beretta M9 in mint condition!!!!!!! Man I am happy . We traded even and its in great shape. Its the M9 and not the 92FS . I always thought they all were 92's butI didnt know that some actually had "M9" stamped on them. The rear sight is a half-moon shape instead of the two dots.

Yup that's an M9.
I wouldn't have traded though...buy. I've regretted most of my many gun trades/sales. Wish I had kept both (the new and the old).
