:highfive: It was a fixeruper that he had, but dang, it would RUN!!!!!! Turns out that the neighborhood that I live in now, well, the main road that it is off of was our drag strip. I tell neighbors that I use to drag race up on the main road. We had the 1/4 mile marked off. :couch:

Sounds VERY familiar...I dated a two guys that were really into cars. I
married the last one.
Drag strip...streetracing. From one that use to be guilty of the later, he's very vocal against it today. Thinks Dragstrips should provide a way for the kids to get it out of their systems safely. (He got caught by his mom at least once....she had eyes all over the county!)

Yeah, I'm the same way. I would probably go NUTS if I ever find out that one of my girls was in a car that was drag racing. I think back now that I could have been KILLED had he lost control. You know none of us wore seat belts back then, I don't even think it was a law in my state then (mid to late 80's).
His parents knew he was out drag racing, heck his parents had an old '57 Chevy that they had "restored" to an extent. It was the Sunday afternoon drive car. Occassionally they would let him take it out. I ran into his parents not long ago and they tell me that they still have that '57 Chevy.
Oh my bad I thought this thread would be about one of them drinkin outta Canteen's:embarassed::rofl::rofl:

It IS funny how our attitudes changed about many things when we had children. They change and grow more as your children grow up, too.
My hubby had a 56 Chevy Stepside Pickup when I met him.
At the time, I didn't really appreciate how special that was. I wish he had kept it now. It was just an "old truck" to me at the time. Youth!
My son-in-law wants to get an old car and restore it with his "Dad"(in-law).
Too bad we don't still have that!
