View Full Version : Best(cheapest)place to buy a factory 3.5 lb. connector?
After spending a day at the range with my 21sf, I decided I would like to install a 3.5 lb connector. Looked all over the internet and was dismayed at the thought of paying 20.00 plus for what should be a 6.00 item:wow: Anyone know where to get one cheap?

It's supposed to be an improvement over the Glock connector. I ordered mine from GlockParts.com for less than the Glock one, good service too.
The lonewolf 3.5 connector is better than the Glock 3.5 connector IMO.
I was wondering if there was something better out there than the factory connector. I'll have to take a look at the Lone wolf and Rocket units. Thanks guys.
FWIW, I have Glock 3.5lb connectors in all my Glocks are really like the improvement over the 5lb and 8lb connectors. I tried the Lone Wolf 3.5lb connector and could perceive no improvement over Glock's prodcuts. I do think it is silly for Glock to charge so much for the 3.5lb connector when the other Glock connectors do not cost as much. So, if the Lone Wolf product costs less and money is an issue for you, go for it. For me, the price is not that much of a factor to make me choose an non-Glock part.

For the month of August www.MidwayUSA.com has Scherer 3.5# connectors on sale for $7.99. I put one in my G23, and have a LWD 3.5# in my other G23, there the same to me. Pull the same on my trigger gage also. (both break around 3.5-3.8).
(I also prefer to stay with factory Glock parts as JMB79 above, but conveinience of ordering from these places allowed me to try LWD and Scherer parts - I'm not disappointed)
I've had good luck with a Ghost 3.5 in my Glock 19
I went ahead and ordered both a Scherer and a Lone Wolf connector today from Midway:supergrin: When you can't decide, buy both. I'll let you know how it works out .

GLocks 3.5lb connecter was $2 at omb express 2 or 3 months ago. I only bought 2.:steamed: Now they are around $10.

What else have you changed? A 3.5 connector wont give you a 3.5 trigger pull.More like a 4.5 to 5lb. pull.

If the nations gun show ever comes nearby you, they always have a glock rep there who will sell and install for cheap.

I know 3.5# connectors are not recommended for duty/carry use by the manufacturer. But how many of you guys still installed the 3.5# connectors on their carry guns anyways?
Does it really reduce it to a 3.5# pull?
Btw, just bought the Scherer connector for my 21SF from Midway over the weekend.
I have then in my carry guns and no they dont take them down to 3.5 lbs

I guess the preferred setup for the Kentucky State Police is to use the Glock 3.5 connector with the Olive NY spring. This apparently gives you a 5.5lb pull that is quite a bit smoother and more consistent than just a 5.5 connector and a coil spring. Learned this at the armorers course.
I have my parts on order to try it out.

I'm Very Sorry.:crying: My trigger pull is 4.5 to 4.8 lb. in that range (I had must of had threes on the brain) measured on a Imada digital force gage; in addition to the trigger job preformed on the DVD "Making Glocks Rock" probaly more commonly reffered to as the "25 cent trigger job".
Good Catch Bowtie, as chaging a connector alone will not give you a super trigger.

I am looking to get the Scherer 3.5 Connector from midwayUSA for my G23, and some are saying that is does not give you a 3.5lb trigger pull and some says it does. So will it give you a 3.5lb trigger pull or not?

Apparently the NY style trigger spring is less prone to breakage as well.

I've heard good things about the LWD 3.5 so I figured I would try it out in my brand new G19. I have OEM Glock 3.5s in my G22 and G26 and was looking for another one but quickly decided against it since they are $30 now.
LWD 3.5 + G17 smooth trigger for $30 should be just right

1. I cannot think of a single good reason to not use a 3.5lb connector in you carry Glock if you prefer the 3.5lb connector. A Glock is my primary carry weapon and often my back up too. These pistols have 3.5lb Glock connectors and smoothed/polished internals. I shoot quite accurately with these pistols and do not consider the 3.5lb conncector to be a liability of any kind.
2. No. As already mentioned several times, the 3.5lb connector does not equate to a 3.5lb trigger pull.

...which is why Glock now calls it a 4.5 pound connector!

Glock doesn't "charge so much" for the 4.5 pound connector because Glock doesn't sell them in the U.S.! The factory connectors are "gray market" imports from elsewhere and that is one reason the price is higher.

Got a Ghost Rocket 3.5 in my G19 & G23 and soon to have one in my G27.
I received my Scherer and LWD 3.5 connectors today. After some switching around, I felt the Scherer gave me a lighter, smoother trigger pull in my 21sf, compared to the stock unit. I also tried the LWD but the perceived "feel" just wasn't to my liking. I then installed the LWD unit in my 19 carry gun. Wow, what a difference! Now that is what I was looking for. Much lighter take up, with a cleaner release. The 21sf is my first large frame Glock, and it has taken me some time to get a feel for it. I'm not sure if it's the size of the pistol overall or what but it is a bit harder for me to shoot well than the small frame Glocks. Well, I'm off to the range to see what kind of a real world difference these changes have made in my shooting.
awesome info koolkev, i cant wait for your full report.
Just got back from the range, the Glocks are cleaned and tucked in for the night. Wow, what a differance, the 21sf is now officially the most accurate Glock I have ever owned. It has definetly benifited the most from the connector swap, and is for me much easier to shoot well with. I always shot the 19 fairly well, but groups with it now are much tighter than before. Overall I am quite pleased with both of these connectors and consider their cost, money well spent.
