Field stripping was a bear. I had to really yank on the slide to get it to release from the frame. I have a NY1 in my G27 and have no problems whatsoever taking the slide off. Never had a problem either in my G23. I even tried using a different trigger bar in the G30sf with the NY1. It made no difference. Is this a common problem with the G30sf/G30 and a NY trigger? Strange. I went back to using a connector.

I have had NY1 springs in 2 G30s with no problems and don't see why the G30SF would be any different. You need to pull the trigger while removing the slide with a NY1 installed.

I use the NY1 in my G37
Interesting. I use NY1/stock connector in my Glocks. Yeah, you do have to pull the trigger and hold it back to fieldstrip.
Never heard of it being such an issue, though. Don't the SF frames have a different Trigger Housing? This may account for some of the problem.....
You need to use a connector regardless ot whether you use a NY1 trigger spring or a stock trigger spring.

I think he means he went back to the stock trigger spring, miscalling it a connector. I think..........

I have a glock 26 and have a NY1/stock connector and have no problems with mine. You do sometimes have to play with the trigger a little bit to get it off. Just lightly pull it in or move it a bit to get the slide off.
Yeah, it's no big deal. Not like what the OP is describin', I think...........

"Coach"/Habu, yes sorry I meant stock trigger spring and 5.5 lb OEM connector. I am using an OEM 3.5 lb. connector with my NY1. Omission on my part.
I guess I wasn't holding back the trigger, instead removing as I always do with a conventional trigger spring/conector combo. Live and learn. My first outing with a NY1. Strangely though I had no problems with the NY1 I also installed in my G27 (?). Anyway, thanks gentlemen.
Right on. Yeah, you always have to hold that trigger back when fieldstripping a NY1 equipped Glock. You've got it figured out. Very good.
Now go and look at the parts schematic in your owners manual, and memorize the correct nomenclature of every part!:supergrin:
I'm just messin' with ya dude!:wavey:
