View Full Version : extractor for 40 cal. to 9mm conversion
What 9mm extractor will work in my 3rd gen. M-23. I'm converting it to 9mm.
Thanks

It' working fine as a 40, I want to make sure it will do the same when I convert it to 9mm
I'm using a Storm Lake conversion barrel
I see at least three different 9mm extractors listed which one for a 3rd gen. M-23

How are you converting it? A conversion barrel?

I'd see if it will function without the change out. Some of them work fine with just changing the barrel.

Yup. I converted my wife's G33 and my G27 to 9mm. Mine was 100% reliable with just the conversion barrel. On her's, I ended up changing everything (98-99% reliable with just the conversion barrel). It is her CCW, so even 100% isn't reliable enough.
I changed extractors in my G23 to go to 9mm, to get 100% reliability.
It's 3rd Gen, LCI. So I put in a G19 extractor in, same 15 degree, without LCI so I can tell them apart at a glance. If you do this, you'll need the correct Spring Loaded Bearing to go with a non-LCI extractor.
Simple, easy to switch back and forth.
On my 23, the .357 Sig barrels works fine. The 9MM conversion has problems, but I didn't change anything but the barrel and magazine.
I'm thinking that I may not sell my 19.
