View Full Version : +1 for Glock and Fred
Thumbs up to Glock and Fred in Tech Services. I sent my G26 (1996 production) to have the slide refinished. I asked for it to be refinished like the newer generation Glocks and have night sights installed. I received it back a few weeks later and the finish wasn't exactly how I wanted it. Called Fred who sent a FedEx overnight envelope. He said he wouldn't send it back until he was satisfied that it was a 100% match. Received it back the other day and couldn't be happier.
I also found out that my G23c is finally in after 4 months waiting. Ameriglo night sights and a GTL 22 with some Federal Tactical 180 HST's and I'm all set.
Just wanted to share the excitement

How much did this service cost? And, while they had it, did they replace any parts of your 1996 G26?
Thanks for sharing your experience.

For the refinish and night sights it was $100 shipped. I sent the slide, nothing else. After I bought it used about a year ago I sent it to Glock to check over. They replaced a few parts for no cost. It runs like a Swiss Clock, I just don't like the older finish.

I'll be picking up a new G26 in a few days. So maybe I'll just have to send my G19 in for some TLC.

I've dealt with Fred before. Good guy!!
Another A+ for Fred. Very knowledgeable and always helpful. TC.
Wow, $100 for night sights, slide refinishing and shipping, too. That price would be hard to beat anywhere.
Was the older finish that dull, parkerized looking finish I've seen on some glocks?
Anyway, congrats on getting it done. Fred sounds like the go to guy!

Correct the finish was the flat, dull, non textured finish that scratches easily. The new finish makes the slide look like a newer Glock, the only thing that gives it away is the lack of checkering on the grips.
Fred is that good that once after speaking to him I asked to speak to the head guy in his division. Told him based on the level of service that Fred provides all my handgun purchases will be Glocks.
