at least thats what I see when I compare a g19 stock gen 3 bbl to a LWD bbl?
the 6 o clock position is more supported in the stock glock bbl.
can someone please reafirm/explain?
I lightened up the image a tad so that you could see more into the 6 o clock position.

I don't know......that does look like less, slightly.......mine looks the same as a G19 barrel.
Now that I've slightly reamed the chamber, it's just as "loose" as that G19 barrel........and just as reliable!
I'd stick with the stock barrel.
But, case support, or lack of it, isn't an issue with 9mm.
I assume you're bringing this up in relation to the kaboom (or, case failure) issue. Incidents involving 9mm are very rare. Hence, don't worry about it.

You're comparing 9 mm. barrels. Take a look at the .40 S&W barrels, where it really counts.

is this a nine mm conversion barrel? I'd ask JR if you want a proper answer.

+1
It was only every an issue with the .40s, and even that has been taken care of in the latest generation.

Even thou its "just a 9," Im just trying to get the most out of my brass, safely! I know the chamber is tighter, but im just addressing the 6 o clock area. I took a spent casing shot from the stock bbl and tried to put it back in the stock bbl, fit rite in.
same spent casing into the LW bbl, went about half way in.
Well, it sounds like you'll be fine, as you've shown the brass expands less with the LW barrel. The case brass is strongest and thickest nearest the base. As long as you don't see undue bulging, I think you're good to go. Follow whatever limits on number of reloadings you trust and examine spent brass for signs of cracks, etc., as you normally would.

I would say the smaller diameter 9mm brass will be more stout in that area combined with the lower pressures will lower the chances of any bulging in that area.
I'm sure case mouth cracks will be a problem before bulging in this area. The case mouth gets way more stretching when reloading.
Howdy,
I replaced my G35 barrel w/ a LW barrel because the factory barrel bulged the brass to much.
