I do not have a Glock yet but I'm doing the reaserch before I but one. I had thought the G26 was the one for me until I read some of the post's here, Now I'm wondering about the G19 It will be for concealed carry all the time, and I wan't my Glock in 9mm. The G19 only seems to be about 3/4 of an inch
longer and taller than the G26. But are they both just as reliable? and could you carry the G19 inside the wasteband? just as well as the G26?

Cant go wrong either way, some say the 26 is more accurate. I carry a 23 in a galco skyops inside the waistband holster with no problems, dont forget the 19 will be a little heavier w/ 5 more rounds also

if I was going to strictly use it as a CCW piece, I'll probably pick the 26. But for me. I wanted an all-around gun. Big enough to shoot comfortably all day. And yet, small enough to CCW easily. The G19 fits that bill. Sold my USP 9 for it.

I have both.
The 19 gets carried FAR more often the the 26. The 19 is plenty concealable for me. Ive got plenty of capacity and its easy to shoot.
The 26 is not easy for me to shoot well with but I still use it when Im dressing very light.....which isnt that often. Alot of times if Im going to a wedding, funeral etc.....something where I dont want ANY attention to my firearm I will use it or a 4" 1911.
Thankfully I dont go to many of either.
In the summer I just wear the 19 with shorts and a t-shirt.....no issues.

For CCW there is no problems with concealing the G19 when the weather is cool (Where I live that's from mid-September to mid-June. I'm already looking forward to switching back to my G19). In the hot months where a T-shirt is mandatory the G26 is definitely easier to conceal.

What kind of 'posts' are you referring to?
I've owned both the G19 and G26. Both are excellent. I wanted mine 'MAINLY' for CC so I own the G26 and am completely happy with it.
You can carry a G19 mag as backup if you wish so you would have the 15 round mag to slap in it if you would need to. I believe all the 9mm mags fit it and the 33 round G18 mags fit it too.
G26 is tapered in the front to add to the looks (not as blockee lookin) and I guess it might aid in holstering as well. I like the looks of it better than the compact and full size models but thats just me.
My pick for a carry/SD/range fun gun goes to the G26

I have both - 26 & 19. Most holsters will hold both, but the 19 feel more secure with in the waist band holsters. My 26 is now a car gun because I carry the 19. Also take a look at the 36. It’s just a little thinner than the 19 but uses 45 ACP ammo. I carry it(36) when I do my collection in the hood.

Both are great. I agree with the other posters that if you're going to CCW exclusively then get the 26. I have both and if you can get both then do it. The 19 is a great all around gun.

Get the 19. 15 round mag is nice to have then 10 round mag of 26. Compact size is better suited for comfortable shooting than sub-compact size of 26.
The better solution is to buy both 19 and 26, however.

IMO Glock 19. Perfect combination of small size, accuracy, recoil and capacity without needing the hands of a midget to properly grasp it.

Both are good guns. If you can shoot both. See if 1 feels more comfortable to you or you shoot 1 better than the other. If so go with what feels more comfortable and you shoot better. G19 is not hard to conceal. Can;t go wrong either way.

I'm with you on that one!

Both are great firearms but you would not buy a car with out a road test. See if there is a range by you and rent each one a test them out. I have a 19 and love it.

If you can conceal a 26, you can conceal a 19.
If you are carrying IWB, barrel length doesnt matter in terms of concealment.
The real question you should be asking is what size are your hands.
Smaller hands, the 26 will give you a good combat grip, especially if you have an extension on the mag.
Meduim hands, the 19 will give you a surer grip than the 26.
Large hands you may be forced to go with the 19.
With +2 extensions on the 26, you can walk around with 22 rounds if you carry 1 reload.
Added benefit of the 19 is if you are carrying 1 spare mag, youre walking around with 30 rounds on your belt.
IMO they are both so close to perfect its down to ergonomics or capacity.

I would opt for the 19.
When I want to carry a smaller 9MM than the G19, a steel frame Kahr of some sort fills the bill.....................
I think you need midget hands to shoot either one!
I have a G26 with pinky extension and for some reason the grip seems "better" than a G19. I wonder if the finger groove spacing is the same or possibly larger on the G26?
I doubt it's their best seller, but here on GT, the G19 seems to be the overwhelming favorite.

I like to appendix carry IWB. It works well with light, summer clothing and provides weapon access when seated. The G26 (in a RM Lowrider kydex holster) works great in this carry mode. The G19 doesn't.

It depends what your looking for, if you want a more concealable carry arm then the 26, but i would take the G19 its abit bigger and gives you abit more stability along with a few extra rounds, and its not like the 19 isn't concealable it can be concealed just as well as the 26 can.

The G19 was my first Glock nearly 15 years ago. I carried it CC and never considered it was too big or bulky. I just did it and it worked fine. About five years ago someone convinced me that I had to have a G26 because it was a better CC gun, easier to shoot accurately and could still use the larger mags of the G19 or G17. So I ran out and bought one. I found that the G26 could use the same holsters I had used for my G19. At least I had that cost savings.
Well, after a few years of back and forth with the two guns, I finally realized that with the holsters being the same, there really wasn't any difference between the guns except for about a half-inch longer grip of the G19. For me there is no real advantage with the G26. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't buy the G26. I would probably buy another newer model G19 with the light rail.
There is nothing wrong with the G26, but for me the G19 is the best choice. I intend to sell my G26 soon and get another G19. Your choice should fit your likes and dislikes, regardless of what we think.

Yes get both, I have 2 G26s and one G19. I like the 26 better but the 19 is great.
