Glock 19 is my daily carry, sometimes the 26. The 17 is so similar that I use it for home defense (one less thing to think about at 2am when the alarm/dog go off).
The .357 is because, well, everyone should have a .357 magnum. The Ruger LCR I really don't need...I'm tempted to sell it and buy some other Glock ;-)
The Sig P238 holds great promise as a summer carry, except that I've had no end of problems with it and Sig's customer service has been absolutely abysmal. When and if I get it fixed and reliable, I'd love to carry it - 6+1 (or 5+1, depending on who you talk to at Sig!!), 15.2 oz loaded, single action trigger.
The 1911 is because, well, everyone should own a 1911! I go back and forth on it vs. the Glock 17 for home defense. I can move the Surefire to either and have the gripswitch for the Kimber, too. I love the gripswitch - lets you flick the light on or off without changing your hand position.
And yes, I do have nights sights on my guns because, well, I might have to use them at night! ;-)
Next I'd like to get a .22LR for plinking, maybe another 1911 that is more mil-spec, and perhaps a Glock in .45ACP.
My primary self-defense ammo is 124gr 9mm +P Speer Gold Dot JHPs. 400 ft lbs. at muzzle, yummy...

Tactical light mount? Heh, At first glance I thought you had installed a mini grenade launcher under your Glock. That Surefire looks huge in the pic, I imagine it does a good job of blinding anyone on the recieving end of that beam. :wow:

I lowered the opening 1.5", 38mm, installed some spacers to extend the
body out. I also, not pictured, drilled a hole for a zip-tie, it esentially keeps
the release button depressed. Glock is still held in with a small amount of
pressure from the tension screw at the trigger guard. Works for me,.........

Been thinking about this as well. I have the exact holster, only on a drop leg
platform, for both my 22 and 35. However, I have noticed that the added
length of the 35's snout slows my presentation trying to snake it out the top.
This looks as though it would certainly aid re-holstering as well. Does it have
much play front to back? If enough force is exerted, could it potentially rock
forward out of the holster?

I gave mine Gold Fillings as Silver didn't look right with the OD. I want to get another Glock in all black and do the chorme pins and silver fillings.
I also milled the chamber indicator so itis truely flush to the slide when the chamber is empty. Not sure about everyone else, but mine still stuck out a bit when empty now it only sticks out when there is a round in the chamber.

So they handed a non "gun guy" photographer a pistol and live ammo to play with and take pictures of? Then they didn't check the picture and approve it for use in the magazine? I'm a professional photographer and interestingly enough it seems like a lot of us are gun guys. But that's besides the point. Typically with an advertisement like that there is an entire chain of command who have to approve the photo, the copy, the layout etc. The fact that the ad went all the way to print means that not one, but many people missed that little "detail". Bizarre. I wonder if anyone lost their job over that?

Or...Do we really know that it was an oversight or an accident and that it wasn't done on purpose??:dunno: maybe as a joke or like "hey, lets see if anyone notices" type... I would really hope that it didn't make it thru all those proof readers, etc and nobody noticed.... just my opinion...still funny either way!
The fact that the ad went all the way to print means that not one, but many people missed that little "detail".
My thought exactly. A lot of people dropped the ball here. People who work for a gun company should have caught that. Even if it was the marketing department or whatever. I'd imagine some of the folks at HK own one of these pistols. :whistling:

Will do. I got it for a steal as supposedly there is a slight scuff on it. We'll see. It's all aluminum and I am consider getting the chamber end of my barrel duracoated to match the OD lower anyway, so if there is a blemish it gets to be part of a project.

I wonder, in a match like USPSA, you think that would distract your eye from keeping on your front sight? (or dot if your using one)
believe it or not, the back of the gun does look different but it takes little time to not even notice the new cover plate and just look down the sights.

I've used a few diff FO's and Night Sights on a few diff guns and although I'm not the biggest fan of Glock Cup and Ball sights, they aren't bad. I'm not sure they'll be on much longer, but if they are, it's no biggie.
I have the Truglo TFOs on my G19 and love them. The past couple of Glocks I have had also sported the TFO's. They are definately one of my favorites..but there are a bunch out there that are great as well.

Keep GunBlaster away fromm the TruGlo TFO sights. Also be careful with the
sights and marble counter tops. I shattered a TFO's fiber optic rod when the slide
was bumped and fell the height of the Glock case to the counter. TruGlo
did replace the sight, but it was about a three week wait.
They are a great "target" sight but no where good enough for a combat or HD sight.

Some nice photos. I don’t own a Glock yet, but should soon, if I can just decide between the 17 & 19. No place to handle them both at the same time around here. Once I get it, I’ll go thru this whole thread to see what’s been done, and see if I can be creative with some photos. Something different.

I like your idea of a holster in the second picture.

This is my 19, same one in my avatar. It's actually the fifth one I've had, but this one is going NOWHERE! There's also a couple 124 gr. Gold Dots I fired out of it (they wouldn't hurt though, it's only a 9mm).

GREY GHOST how is that holster you got looks like an uncle mikes? Does it ride somewhat high? Great camper holster looks like.

To save you searching for posts pages back, in the 1980s {IIRC}, H&K ran an ad with a photo of a magazine next to the pistol with at least the top two rounds LOADED BACKWARDS.

+1,000!
It is a Hi-Vis setup. It is the one that is .093" wide instead of .125" like the factory frt sight. This makes it alittle easier for fine shots.
Plus, for IDPA/IPSC it is very fast to pick up the front sight, especially with over 40yo eyeballs.
Paul
P.S. It also makes it easier to see the front sight in low light conditions.

haha thanks. yeah i like it alot. its a really cheap red dot though. but we did have a custom mount made so we dont damage the rail at all. it sure does bark... specially when we use +p...i love it. smooth as can be and its balanced really well.
